Job Description
In this role, you will ensure business continuity for the Repair department within the Aalborg Blades manufacturing plant. As an Experienced Professional in Manufacturing Production Process Engineering, your focus will be on maintaining and enhancing the efficiency and reliability of blade repair operations. You will work across three core areas: Process Design & Optimization, Quality Assurance & Compliance, and Production Support. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing and improving repair workflows, ensuring compliance with stringent quality standards, and providing technical guidance to resolve production challenges.
How You'll Make an Impact
Process Design and Optimization
- Analyze, document, and map existing blade repair processes to identify opportunities for improvement in safety, efficiency and cost.
- Design, develop, and implement new or revised production processes, including specifying procedures for tooling and equipment.
- Collaborate with product design engineering to provide feedback on technical specifications to improve the repairability of wind turbine blades.
- Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Quality Assurance and Compliance
- Implement and monitor statistical process controls (SPC) to ensure control over critical process variables in blade repair.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and quality issues, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Ensure all repair processes and procedures are in compliance with internal standards and relevant industry regulations.
Production Support and Troubleshooting
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for the Repair production team, troubleshooting and solving difficult process-related problems.
- Provide guidance and training to production personnel on new or updated repair techniques and procedures.
- Monitor process performance and collaborate with the production team to drive continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automation Engineering, Marine Engineering or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in a process engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong background in lean principles and quality control.
- Experience with composite materials, repair processes, or the wind energy industry is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- Curious and positive mindset with a proactive attitude focusing on solutions instead of limitations.
