As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our Geotechnical team with an Excavator Operator at our Yard and on sites throughout the UK.
The geotechnical team comprises an enthusiastic group of engineers, drillers, machine operators and management staff. Our team specialises in high quality geotechnical investigation work in remote locations.
We take health and safety seriously and provide all staff with necessary training, skills, PPE and welfare.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
The main purpose of the role is to:
- Working on renewables and infrastructure sites to support the geotechnical investigation activity of the business.
- Excavator operator on these sites forming trial pits, access works and associated excavation / reinstatement activities.
- Plant logistics, routine maintenance of excavator and other equipment, along with general good housekeeping at the yard
- Supporting project teams with other ad hoc site works as and when required
- Open participation in safety culture and contribution to team discussions
- Perform trial excavations, access works, environmental mitigations etc using suitable excavation plant.
- Plant / vehicle maintenance
- Assistance to drilling teams, as and when required (subject to specific training)
- Professional engineering team and client interaction
- Attend regular meetings with Projects teams on site and at NP yard / offices if necessary
- Due to the wide geographical spread of our sites this will involve travel and working away from home.
This is a Permanent - Full time role, working 50 hours per week, generally Monday - Friday.
