Job Description
As an Offshore Operations Senior Risk Management Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation and continuous development of Offshore Operations end-to-end risk management processes, covering all risks with a significant impact on short-and long-term business plans, as well as using your risk management expertise to support the rest of the team.
Note: HSE-specific risks & processes (Case to Operate etc.) are not under the remit of this role & continue to be managed by the HSE department.
About the role
- Work with Operations teams to ensure risks are identified, consistently quantified, and proactively treated, including scheduled risk reviews and ad-hoc support on emerging risks.
- Maintain close connections with & coordinate input from subject matter experts (e.g. Engineering, Procurement, Legal) into risk management processes.
- Develop and implement best practices for risk identification, quantification, treatment, stress testing, and lessons learned.
- Maintain high-quality data in our risk management tool, ensuring clarity, consistency and comparability.
- Analyse risk data to identify trends, portfolio-relevant risks and priorities for resource allocation (e.g. budget, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, Commercial, etc support).
- Prepare clear risk reports and coordinate sign-off with site General Managers and Operational Directors for use in business reporting (e.g. financial forecasting, planning, KontraG).
- Track and report on critical risks, monitoring delivery of treatments against agreed milestones and holding risk owners accountable.
- Provide peer review, coaching and support to Risk Management Specialists.
Job requirements and experience
- University degree in economics, business, engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of a few years of relevant professional experience (experience in offshore wind, power generation, oil and gas, or similar heavy industry is beneficial).
- Extensive experience in developing and implementing risk and asset management processes and governance/audit (knowledge of ISO 31000 is beneficial).
- Familiarity with commercial processes (e.g. financial planning, KontraG, commercial risk management).
- High standards of accuracy, quality and follow-through.
- Effective stakeholder management skills and ability to build relationships across departments and regions.
- Effective communication across all organisational levels (from site teams to senior management).
- Business-fluent written and spoken English.
