- Inspect electrical installations, identify defects, and complete or support minor corrective works to restore safe and reliable operation.
- Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities, including tightening, replacement, adjustment, cleaning, and general electrical troubleshooting.
- Perform testing, performance checks, fault diagnosis, commissioning follow-up, and re-testing activities, ensuring results are recorded and issues are escalated where required.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors on site during maintenance, defect rectification, and planned works, while liaising with O&M teams, OEMs, and internal technical stakeholders.
- Attend site meetings and provide clear updates on defects, technical issues, safety concerns, and work progress.
- Complete service reports, inspection records, and test sheets accurately and on time, while supporting quality checks, snagging close-out, and compliance with site HSE requirements and permit systems.
Profile

- Experience in solar operations and maintenance essential.
- Practical understanding of utility-scale solar systems, including PV modules, string cabling, inverters, transformers, switchgear, and substations.
- Ability to carry out electrical inspection, testing, fault finding, and minor rectification works safely and effectively.
- Experience working with subcontractors, OEMs, and site teams in a live operational or construction environment.
- Able to read drawings, test records, and technical documentation with good attention to detail.
- Strong safety awareness and a disciplined approach to permit systems, site rules, and reporting requirements.

What They Do
ILOS Energy focuses on renewable energy, particularly solar photovoltaics (PV), and is increasingly integrating battery storage and hydrogen interfaces for hybrid projects. The company manages the entire lifecycle from development to construction, financing, and long-term asset management as an independent power producer (IPP) (source: ippjournal.com). Their products and services include the design of solar parks, negotiating EPC and O&M contracts, securing external financing and PPAs, as well as managing grid connections and operating sites to optimize kWh production (source: ilos-energy.com). Target markets include seven European countries, where ILOS serves landowners, communities, local councils, and energy consumers through its own solar parks with green electricity (source: ilos-energy.com). ILOS differentiates itself through a lean, founder-led structure with deep internal capabilities and a portfolio of 4.5 GWp by the end of 2024 (source: ippjournal.com).
Projects & Track Record
By the end of 2024, ILOS's portfolio includes six operational sites totaling 123 MW, primarily solar PV, with specific names and locations of most not publicly detailed (source: ilos-energy.com). Ongoing projects include 367 MW under construction, including a 217 MW solar park in Ballyhea, County Cork, Ireland, supported by a debt financing of 143 million euros (166.7 million USD) (source: ippjournal.com). A total of 961 MW is ready for construction, supporting hybrid solar projects with storage and hydrogen (source: ilos-energy.com). In September 2023, ILOS sold a 28 MW solar park in Spain to Encavis, marking a milestone in asset monetization (source: encavis.com).
Recent Developments
In 2024, ILOS secured a financing facility of 500 million euros from EIG to accelerate growth to over 2 GW by 2026, focusing on construction capital and ready-to-build acquisitions in solar and battery projects (source: eigpartners.com). AXA IM Alts acquired a 60% stake in ILOS in 2024, as announced in mid-year press releases, enabling the scaling of the platform with founder involvement (source: axa-im.com). Previously, at the end of 2023, ILOS received 143 million euros in debt for the 217 MW solar park in Ballyhea, Ireland (source: ippjournal.com).
Working There
ILOS employs over 70 staff across seven countries in areas such as development, construction, engineering, EPC, grid integration, asset management, finance, M&A, commercial strategy, and project management (source: ilos-energy.com). Recruitment is primarily conducted from the headquarters in Karlsruhe and through European offices in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Spain, and Germany, while the small team is rapidly growing to support pipeline expansion (source: ippjournal.com). The company culture emphasizes a passionate, dynamic environment united by the goals of transforming renewable energy, with the founders' commitment fostering innovation, long-term vision, and collaboration with stakeholders (source: ilos-energy.com).
