Job Description

Plexar Energy is looking for a Business Development & Commercial Associate / Senior Associate to help develop and commercialize intelligent energy solutions that enable industries to electrify, decarbonize and strengthen their competitiveness.

As part of a growing company backed by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), one of the world's leading renewable energy investors, you will work at the intersection of energy, infrastructure, finance and technology while helping build a business from the ground up.

Role

As a Business Development & Commercial Associate / Senior Associate, you will play a key role in originating, evaluating and developing new customer opportunities.

You will support the development of business cases, commercial structures and customer relationships, helping transform complex energy challenges into investable and commercially attractive solutions.

The role provides broad exposure across project development, commercial modelling, customer engagement, negotiations and strategic initiatives. Depending on your experience, you may take ownership of customer relationships and commercial workstreams.

Working in a small and dynamic team, you will contribute directly to the growth of Plexar and gain significant responsibility from day one.

This role offers a unique opportunity to develop into a leading commercial and business development professional within one of the most exciting areas of the energy transition.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

Commercial Modelling & Deal Development

  • Develop and maintain techno-economic models and business cases for microgrid projects.
  • Assess project economics, value creation and risks across different customer and market scenarios.
  • Support commercial structuring, customers proposal and negotiations in close collaboration with technical and engineering teams

Customer Development & Account Management

  • Support customer opportunities from origination through execution and operation.
  • Build and maintain strong customer and partner relationships.
  • Coordinate commercial activities across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor business case performance throughout project development.

Business Development & Strategy

  • Conduct market assessments, and evaluate new commercial opportunities.
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships and customer relationships.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives supporting Plexar's continued growth.

You

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with commercial curiosity, customer orientation and a desire to make a tangible impact in the energy transition.

We look for the following in a candidate

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience developing business cases, commercial analyses, financial or techno-economic models.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex datasets.
  • Experience with energy market modelling tools such as PLEXOS is considered an advantage.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and structured manner.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • Interest in renewable energy, energy markets, electrification and decarbonization.
  • Professional fluency in English.
