Canadian Solar is seeking a driven, technically minded Regional Sales Manager for our Residential Energy Storage product: EP Cube. This role is built for a true hunter-an ambitious, resilient sales professional who is energized by opening new doors, creating demand, and winning new business in a competitive market.
The successful candidate will lead sales growth throughout Florida while helping build strategic relationships that support future expansion into Spanish-speaking markets. You will be trusted to develop strong installer and distribution partnerships, uncover new opportunities, and drive adoption of EP Cube across the territory.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives on building a territory, overcoming obstacles, and consistently delivering results. This role requires extensive face-to-face engagement with customers and partners and is designed for top-performing sales professionals who want ownership, accountability, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on one of the fastest-growing segments of the clean energy industry.
Responsibilities
- Own new business development across Florida by aggressively identifying, prospecting, qualifying, and converting high-potential installers, distributors, and strategic partners for EP Cube.
- Build a strong pipeline of new revenue opportunities by creating demand for residential energy storage and positioning EP Cube as a preferred solution in the market.
- Develop deep, trusted relationships with new and existing installation and distribution partners; understand their business objectives, technical needs, and growth goals, then align EP Cube solutions to help them succeed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Spanish-speaking installers, distributors, and strategic partners, serving as a key resource for business development and future market expansion initiatives.
- Support expansion opportunities into Spanish-speaking markets by identifying high-potential partners, developing relationships, and providing market intelligence that informs growth strategies.
- Travel extensively, approximately 50-60% or more throughout the year, to conduct face-to-face meetings, technical discussions, training sessions, and business development activities.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, account qualification, technical education, proposal development, objection handling, negotiation, and deal closure.
- Utilize Salesforce and other business tools with strong discipline to track activity, manage pipeline, forecast sales, monitor conversion progress, and measure performance against revenue and growth objectives.
- Create and execute a territory growth strategy focused on installer acquisition, revenue generation, market share expansion, and long-term partner development.
- Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, Planning, and Technical Support teams to remove barriers, communicate market feedback, and ensure customer success.
- Gather and communicate competitive intelligence, market trends, customer insights, pricing information, and growth opportunities that strengthen EP Cube's position in the market.
- Represent Canadian Solar and EP Cube at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and customer meetings while promoting the company's reputation as a leader in residential energy storage.
- Support product bankability and market acceptance by helping customers and partners understand the value proposition, reliability, and long-term benefits of EP Cube solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Proven B2B sales success in energy storage, battery systems, solar, distributed energy, or a closely related clean energy market, with a strong preference for candidates who have sold technical products through installer and distributor channels.
- A true hunter mentality: demonstrated ability to prospect aggressively, open new doors, create demand, qualify opportunities, and build a territory from the ground up.
- Strong resilience and persistence, with the ability to overcome objections, navigate setbacks, and maintain momentum in a highly competitive market.
- Experience developing and executing a personal sales playbook, including prospecting strategy, pipeline creation, account targeting, CRM discipline, and territory planning.
- Ability to quickly understand customer needs and translate technical, financial, and market challenges into compelling business solutions.
- Strong ability to identify decision-makers, uncover buying criteria, manage complex sales cycles, overcome objections, and consistently close business.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. The successful candidate must be able to conduct business discussions, sales presentations, technical conversations, training sessions, and relationship-building activities in both languages. Spanish language proficiency is a critical requirement to support growth across Florida and future expansion into Spanish-speaking markets.
- Willingness and excitement to travel extensively throughout Florida and other assigned territories as business needs evolve.
- Must reside within Florida and within approximately one hour of a major airport.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills across in-person meetings, video calls, phone conversations, email, and executive-level customer interactions.
- High level of self-motivation, accountability, coachability, and professionalism, with the ability to thrive in a remote environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Salesforce, and CRM-driven sales processes; strong CRM discipline is expected for pipeline management, forecasting, and activity tracking.
- Understanding of Virtual Power Plant (VPP) programs, Energy Storage Systems (ESS), and residential storage market dynamics is strongly preferred.
- A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a related field is preferred but not required; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
