Company Overview

Gridfuse GmbH

Leipzig, Germany

2022

Approximately 10-20 employees (source: gridfuse.com).

What They Do

Gridfuse GmbH is a software company specializing in the optimization of renewable energy. Their primary focus is on developing a Virtual Power Plant (VPP) software platform that aggregates and optimizes renewable energy sources such as wind and solar plants to ensure flexibility across markets and respond to market signals (source: gridfuse.com). The platform offers high-quality live data integration, enabling granular monitoring of energy production from plants and turbines. This promotes seamless integration of facilities and flexible bundling of multiple parks for unified control (source: gridfuse.com). Gridfuse targets operators of renewable facilities, energy traders, and grid operators in Germany and plans to expand into other countries, focusing on rapid integration that meets legal and commercial deadlines (source: gridfuse.com). By closely collaborating with SCADA providers and focusing on adaptable software, Gridfuse positions itself as a specialized provider in the competitive European renewable energy flexibility market (source: gridfuse.com).

Projects & Track Record

As Gridfuse was founded only in 2022, there are no specific completed projects documented in public records with names, locations, or capacities. However, the company focuses on supporting the operational management of renewable portfolios for ancillary services and market optimization (source: gridfuse.com). Ongoing activities include VPP implementations for the aggregation and control of wind and solar resources, with key contacts such as Kevin Thunert responsible for facility integration and Florian Sommer for product development (source: gridfuse.com). The company is positioned within the energy cluster in Leipzig but has not confirmed direct connections to other companies such as Leipziger Stadtwerke (source: leipzig.de).

Current Developments

No significant announcements, contracts won, acquisitions, or funding rounds have been found in the records over the past two years, which aligns with the early phase of the company and the lack of press releases (source: northdata.com). The company has not published any awards, certifications, or quantifiable milestones such as installed capacities (source: gridfuse.com).

Working There

Gridfuse offers positions primarily in software development, DevOps, product management, and technical operations. The team composition includes key roles such as Head of Development, Principal Product Manager, and several software and DevOps engineers (source: gridfuse.com). The company culture emphasizes flat hierarchies, trusting relationships, and the promotion of personal and team-oriented growth, leading to a dynamic startup atmosphere (source: gridfuse.com). Documented benefits include a mission-driven work environment, top-notch tools, and collaborative support, with the company being open to discussions about specific roles (source: gridfuse.com).

At Gridfuse, we believe the future of energy should be decentralized and renewable - and we're building the infrastructure to make that happen.

The grid still depends on fossil fuels - not because we lack renewable energy, but because we lack the systems to integrate it reliably. Our mission is to shift that balance through technology: by building intelligent, decentralized power pools that respond to volatility in real time.

It takes a unique team to meet this vision. You will join our Core team, which is responsible for providing central functionalities for the Gridfuse platform. It is a team of DevOps & System Engineers that designs the infrastructure and software to deliver and operate secure and reliable connection & control services.

We are looking for colleague (m/f/d) to join us in Leipzig or remotely from Berlin (since part of the team is based in Berlin).

The role

  • Join a flat-structured company with a team of Cloud Engineers and Kubernetes Experts
  • Work in a hybrid environment, ensuring smooth deployments, managing pipelines, and supporting application monitoring across both datacenter and cloud infrastructures
  • Develop, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to streamline application delivery and updates
  • Ensure the stability and performance of essential infrastructure services like databases, IAM solutions and other base services

What we need from you

  • You are a self-starter and love to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Proven experience in DevOps, with a strong focus on Kubernetes container orchestration
  • Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes configurations to automate deployment, scaling, and management of applications
  • Skilled in CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance, using tools such as ArgoCD, Gitlab and Terraform for automation
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring and alerting tools to track application and infrastructure performance, ensuring quick detection and resolution of issues
  • Knowledgeable in supporting and maintaining critical infrastructure services like databases and identity management systems
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken (German is not required as English is our company language)
  • A passion for automation and process improvement

What we offer

  • Competitive hardware including a standing desk, 4K curved screen, and MacBook Pro
  • City center office location including home office option
  • EGYM Wellpass membership support
  • Educational budget for every employee
  • Team events, summer & winter parties
  • Real startup culture by having an impact in a small, motivated team
