Position Summary

The Project Manager will lead the execution and delivery of Peak Energy's renewable energy portfolio in Thailand, overseeing multiple Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar and behind the meter battery energy storage (BESS) projects from Project Execution through commercial operation. This role provides technical, commercial, and operational leadership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Peak Energy's quality standards.

The incumbent will act as the owner's representative, leading EPC procurement, contract negotiations, construction management, commissioning, and asset management O&M for the assets while working closely with Development, Finance, Legal, Procurement, and the Regional Asset Management teams.

High-Level Responsibilities

Project Portfolio Leadership

  • Lead the execution of multiple concurrent renewable energy projects across Thailand.
  • Execute the overall project execution strategies aligned with PEAK Energies business objectives.
  • Implement governance, reporting frameworks, project controls, and risk management plans.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project execution processes.

Development & Engineering Support

  • Support project development and Sales support with feasibility studies, technical due diligence,
  • Review constructability, value engineering opportunities, and technical risk assessments.
  • Support investment decisions through technical evaluations and cost optimization.

EPC Procurement & Contract Management

  • Lead EPC prequalification, tendering, technical evaluations, and contractor selection.
  • Negotiate EPC, supply, and service contracts.
  • Manage contract administration, variation orders, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Actively driven local permitting requirement for the Project execution in combination with the EPC Partner

Construction Leadership

  • Direct all construction activities from Notice to Proceed through Commercial Operation Date (COD).
  • Monitor cost, schedule, quality, safety, and project risks.
  • Chair weekly construction progress meetings with EPC contractors and consultants.
  • Resolve technical and commercial issues impacting project delivery.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the local technical authority for Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Review detailed engineering designs and ensure compliance with international standards.
  • Optimize system performance using PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, and related engineering tools.

Operations (O&M) & Asset Management

  • Lead project commissioning, testing, energization, and asset handover.
  • Coordinate transition to Regional Asset Management and Operations teams.
  • Responsible for local O&M Contract management including reporting and compliance with local regulations
  • Act as the solely contact person for the Off taker including alignment and escalation for access to site, Site performance and Billing of Energy.
  • Support warranty management and major operational issues.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build relationships with utilities, regulators, consultants, customers, EPC contractors, and investors.
  • Present project updates and executive reports to senior leadership.
  • Support strategic initiatives and business expansion opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related discipline.
  • Master's Degree is preferred.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent Project Management certification is highly desirable.

Experience

  • 10-15+ years of experience in renewable energy project delivery.
  • Proven experience managing multiple C&I solar projects, Utility scale Project experience is a plus.
  • Successful delivery of 30-50 MW+ of solar and/or battery energy storage projects.
  • Extensive EPC contractor management experience and local connection to creditable EPC Partner
  • Strong commercial and contract negotiation background.
  • Experience with project financing and technical due diligence is advantageous.
  • Direct experience obtaining and managing all permits, licenses, utility approvals, and regulatory requirements for renewable energy and C&I solar projects in Thailand from project mobilization through commercial operation.

Specific experience should include:

  • PEA and MEA interconnection processes.
  • Zero Export approvals
  • ปค.1 (Por Kor 1) and ปค.2 (Por Kor 2) application and approval process.
  • Electrical permits and energization approvals.
  • BOI application support (where relevant).
  • Factory Act and industrial estate requirements.
  • Building and structural approvals.
