We are now looking to hire Plant Operator for our site in Nouakchott, Mauritania. Are you ready to join the ride?
What will you be doing
- Operates the plant according to company policies, procedures and operation profile.
- Plan & execute operational tasks following established procedures to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Assists in start-up, shut-down and normal operations of the power plant systems.
- Optimizes and adjusts processes, flows, settings and other customer plant performance related features based on guidance from technicians and supervisors.
- Maintains tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and available for use.
- Utilizes all tools, equipment, and accessories in such a manner so as to maximize useful operating life.
- Monitors and reports on the status of tasks and activities, ensuring timely completion.
- Completes and maintains all logs and running records clearly and concisely according to the stipulated guidelines.
- Identifies and resolves routine problems within the scope of work, escalating complex issues to higher levels.
- Takes corrective action during system operational disturbances.
- Performs emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety deficiencies.
- Supports continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to current work methods and participating in implementing new practices.
- Assists in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant by ensuring adherence to guidelines and processes.
- Responsible for maintaining the plant in a clean and safe condition at all times.
- Collaborates with team members and provides assistance to ensure timely completion of tasks and activities.
Basic skill sets required
- A bachelor degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering.
- Fundamental understanding of the principles of power generation and distribution.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Mauritanian national only. You will shine in this role if you:
- Perform tasks with direct supervision, with a focus on quality and accuracy of own work impacting single tasks.
- Demonstrate basic operational knowledge and proficiency in using standard work equipment relevant to the plant environment.
- Identify and communicate concerns or problems in own work to the supervisor and suggests improvements to work methods.
- Work collaboratively to complete individual tasks and contributes to team-based activities.
- Provide basic information and handles standard inquiries with team support.
