Job Description
Become Manager, Corporate Security Project Management Office (PMO) at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will collaborate with the Senior Manager of the Corporate Security Project Management Office (PMO) to implement physical security technology solutions and lead a large portfolio of construction and pioneer physical security technology projects focused on safeguarding SCE's workforce, assets, and reputation.
You will support compliance with evolving North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards and lead the Development of strategies to mitigate business disruptions, compliance risks, and property loss using cutting edge physical security technology solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a strong execution-oriented manager who can translate strategy into action, bring structure to complex work, and drive accountability across project teams, vendors, contractors (100+ contractors), and business partners. The successful candidate will combine project management discipline, technical curiosity, business judgment, strong interpersonal influence, and a clear bias for action to advance security technology initiatives in a high-visibility and deadline-driven environment. A strong sense of urgency is critical for success in this role.

Incident Management Team Expected Participation: Employees are expected to support emergency response and/or business continuity efforts, including readiness to serve on an Incident Management Team (IMT) when needed. Employees will participate in an on-call rotation (approximately every four to six weeks), to support IMT activations during emergency events. IMT assignments may differ from an individual's regular responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversees project financials including budgeting, tracking, and reporting.
- Leads, coaches and develops project management staff to enhance their capabilities. Implements and improves processes for project intake, prioritization, and governance.
- Monitors project risks, issues, and dependencies and takes corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Ensures effective project governance and reporting, in-line with SCE project management standards in order to steward ongoing assigned projects.
- Monitors cash flow planning and activates appropriate critical issue project procedures.
- Ensures key deliverable and install quantities are measured, reported and analyzed; Develops and maintains project parameters in order to meet project requirements and goals.
- Identifies potential project risks and monitors closure and resolutions of all identified risks and opportunities; Identifies and evaluates key processes for opportunities in effectiveness, control, and efficiency, and recommends and implements improvements using the principles of standard work.
- Provides direction and participates in project planning, scheduling, estimating, cost development, and establishment of critical project objectives; Executes the scoping, due diligence, feasibility assessment and ultimately the success of projects across SCE.
- Implements quality standards, reviews project deliverables and communicates variances accordingly; Manages project activities and resources across the organization in a manner that maximizes efficiency and minimizes conflicts.
- A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Five or more years of combined experience performing or supervising project management.
Preferred Qualifications
- US Citizenship is required as part of critical infrastructure security protocols.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
- Experience in management of security and/or systems engineering/technology initiatives, developing and driving project budgets, and handling third-party contracts.
- Experience leading the design and implementation of enterprise-wide security infrastructure or other compliance systems.
- Experience with critical infrastructure protection requirements, physical security technology controls, threat assessments, and mitigation tactics.
- Experience leading teams or matrixed resources through project execution, issue resolution, vendor coordination, stakeholder management, and delivery accountability.
- Experience with a major law enforcement, intelligence, public, or private sector security organizations.
- Experience interfacing and collaborating with executive and senior management, peers, regulatory agencies, and external clients to develop solutions and ensure consensus.
- Experience conceptualizing and implementing numerous and far-reaching physical security technology programmatic initiatives.
- Strong leadership experience to lead a successful team, recruit, retain, hire team members, and mentor employees and new leaders.
- Possess excellent, engaging, and persuasive communication, and presentation skills (oral & written); both 1:1 and large audiences.
Additional Information
- This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
