Job Description

In your new position as Electrical Engineer in the Renewables division, you will be a valuable member of the dedicated High Voltage Equipment team who is responsible for driving designs, installations, tests and commissioning of medium- and high voltage projects for large and specialized offshore substation projects.

We are looking for an experienced specialist or an ambitious individual aiming to become an expert in High Voltage Equipment for offshore use. You will collaborate with highly skilled colleagues and can play a crucial role in designing offshore substations, from the tender phase through to commissioning.

Here, you will work with some of the brightest and most skilled engineers in developing technical solutions to our customers all over the world. You will have the exciting chance to bring your knowledge into work in the core area of high voltage systems. Above all, your work will make a real change for the global energy sector.

You may choose working from our head office in Esbjerg or our Nordhavn office close to the centre of Copenhagen. The position is full-time, and you can expect 10-30 travel days per year.

Your tasks & responsibilities

In the role you will be responsible for driving part of the high voltage scope of the projects. You will be the technical design responsible of own scope and in cooperation with the project team oversee compliance of the time schedule and budget, to ensure the project's successful completion.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for design, calculations and engineering of HV/MV equipment in our EPC projects.
  • Handling suppliers, negotiations and contracts in cooperation with the project team and procurement department.
  • Planning and potentially attending FAT, HAT, SAT, commissioning and handover of projects to clients and their O&M organisation.
  • Developing, optimizing and standardizing technical solutions, as well as participating and supporting tenders.

Your profile & qualifications

To succeed in this position, we expect you to have:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, High Voltage Electrical Power Systems or Electrical Installation Engineer.
  • Experience in designing high voltage components such as High- and Medium Voltage GIS and oil-immersed equipment.
  • Practical experience in the installation, testing, and commissioning of high voltage equipment, as well as knowledge of offshore design requirements, is beneficial.
  • An understanding of project management and detailed engineering from offshore substations or other relevant electrical projects.
  • Can communicate in English, both verbal and written.
  • You should be the go-to person for technical clarifications and possess a good sense of humour, which is always appreciated at Semco Maritime.
