Job Description
Reporting to the Product Certification Manager, the Product Certification Engineer, will support product certifications and PV module mounting conformance activities. In this role, you will enable implementation of the Product Development Roadmap through successfully managing product certifications critical for commercialization. Additionally, this role will ensure proper application of module mounting products into commercial projects, ensuring approved products are properly applied.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Be familiar with tracker related certification standards both within the US and internationally (UL2703, UL3703, and IEC62817).
- Coordinate product related certifications with testing laboratories and certifying body.
- Obtain product certifications in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Coordinate activities to test and approve mounting systems with module manufacturers:
- Coordinate mounting component shipments to module suppliers and test labs.
- Order and maintain parts inventory.
- Coordinate and participate in monthly meetings with PV module suppliers.
- Work with 3rd party testing labs to conduct mechanical load evaluations
- Determine module and clamp testing requirements and review final reports.
- Enter module manufacturer approval letters into SalesForce database
- Support Product Management, Civil Engineering, Application Engineering and Business Development departments:
- Provide module clamp recommendations for Array Tech customer projects.
- Obtain module company approvals for solar tracker projects.
- Maintain current knowledge of Array's product portfolio, including new product introduction, (NPI) programs.
- Stay up to date on emerging, and changing industry standards.
- Represent Array at codes and standards working group meetings.
- Conduct project certification compliance, including site visits and evaluations.
- Participate in customer meetings to communicate conformance status and requirements.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing deadlines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical, or structural engineering).
- 1+ years of technical experience in mechanical, structural, electrical/electromechanical fields.
- 3+ years of computer experience expressly in Microsoft Office.
- Good aptitude for electrical, mechanical and structural components.
- Ability to travel occasionally (10-20%).
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in utility-scale solar market.
- Relevant certifications, coursework, or degrees.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks.
- Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, communication, interpersonal and management skills.
- Effectively work as a team member to accomplish company objectives.
- Ability to work across multiple organizations in a fast-paced environment.
