Job Description

The General Superintendent (Civil) has oversight responsibility for civil self-perform team management and Sub-Contract performance across a portfolio of projects.

Acts as a driver of company culture, Core Principles and is an advocate for Signal Energy, LLC by promoting all company policies and procedures and promoting a positive attitude towards the goals of each project.

Participate on interview teams; support civil self-perform hiring, training, and mentoring of new team members.

Mentor civil self-perform Construction Managers, ACM's, Superintendents, and other high potential talent.

Provide oversight to civil self-perform and sub-contracted Construction Managers and Associate Construction Managers.

Drive civil self-perform and sub-contracted site's project execution of productivity, cost, and schedule.

Facilitate development of civil self-perform field personnel's ability to analyze, manage and mitigate risks.

Help plan, lead, and coordinate all activities associated with the execution of projects.

Participate in organization, scheduling, and coordination of civil work at project sites.

Support pre-construction efforts and participate in meetings and site visits.

Support successful project startup aligned with budget and schedule.

Develop coaching and training opportunities for civil self-perform teams.

Participate in monthly project review meetings.

Partner with VP of Field Operations on civil staffing plans.

Attend project status meetings with project team and Client.

Ensure performance of civil self-perform and subcontracted personnel meets expectations.

Support project management team to ensure project is constructed per design, budget, and schedule.

Partner with Safety leadership to support safety programs and quality control.

Travel expected (~75%).

Assist civil self-perform teams with craft-related items including hiring and performance management.

Oversee multiple large-scale civil self-perform solar sites.

Assist with project closeout and commissioning.

Support equipment planning and utilization.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of civil solar construction and project execution.
  • Ability to read and apply civil drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Office.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of self-perform civil leadership experience.
