The Regional Sales Manager, Kisumu will serve as the overall business owner for the assigned region, with full responsibility for commercial performance, operational execution, customer quality, profitability, and regional growth of the Electric business.

The role holder will lead all regional commercial operations across Alpha 1, Stock Point, and Retention functions, while ensuring disciplined execution, strong operational controls, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Own and drive overall regional business performance across all assigned channels and clusters
  • Lead execution of the regional commercial strategy to support national business objectives and growth plans.
  • Drive sustainable sales growth through strong field execution, agent productivity, and channel expansion.
  • Manage regional profitability through efficient deployment of people, stock, operational resources and cost controls.
  • Drive high-quality customer acquisition, onboarding quality, repayment efficiency (RE), customer usage, and retention outcomes.
  • Ensure strong customer experience through proactive issue resolution, field support, and coordination with CX and Aftersales teams.
  • Lead, coach, and performance-manage STLs, TLs, Clerks, Retention Representatives, and field sales agents within the region.
  • Build and stabilize high-performing field teams through structured recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and capability development.
  • Drive execution discipline across all regional teams through PJPs, structured reviews, reporting routines, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Oversee all stock management and operational control processes within the region, including:
    1. Stock accountability
    2. Daily reconciliations
    3. Stock ageing management
    4. Redistribution planning
    5. SAH monitoring
    6. Loss prevention controls
    7. Ensure operational efficiency across stock points, field operations, installations, and customer support activities.
    8. Identify commercial opportunities, operational gaps, and performance risks within the region and implement corrective actions promptly.
    9. Ensure compliance with company operational policies, commercial processes, reporting standards, and governance requirements.
    10. Drive cross-functional collaboration with Commercial Operations, CX, Aftersales, Finance, Supply Chain, and other support teams to ensure smooth regional execution.
    11. Manage and escalate key business risks, including fraud, stock loss, customer quality issues, operational inefficiencies, and compliance gaps.
    12. Provide accurate business reporting, regional insights, performance analysis, and recovery plans to leadership.
    13. Continuously monitor regional performance trends and implement initiatives to improve productivity, execution quality, and operational effectiveness

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years field sales management experience.
  • Experience managing distributed field teams in FMCG, PAYGO, energy, or telecom sectors.
  • Experience managing multi-channel sales models.
  • Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to drive Sales, RE, and Usage performance.
  • Strong people management and coaching capability.
  • High execution discipline and accountability.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience managing stock integrity and field operations.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
