Job Description
Avangrid Power is seeking to fill a Sr. OT System Administrator. This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the Avangrid Power Operational Technology (OT) Infrastructure and Associated Applications, with emphasis on current infrastructure around Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. The successful candidate will possess a high-level of technical expertise in infrastructure architecture, maintenance, and overall systems integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and support stable network and server environment.
- Work closely with the application support team to enable solid OT infrastructure. Perform, coordinate, and manage tasks to ensure business success of the application environment.
- Configure and deploy ESXi clusters.
- Configure and manage Windows Servers according to audit requirements.
- Design, implement, and maintain solid information security, paying special attention to regulatory issues as regards NERC CIPs.
- Create and perform best practices for server stability & patching, backups, test, development, and the like.
- Manage SAN/NAS storage across multiple disparate devices and protocol.
- Manage core vendor relationships.
- Work closely with both technical and non-technical staff to create a resilient and highly available infrastructure for systems operations.
- Light DBA efforts for SQL environments.
- Adhere to effective internal controls.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years Windows system administration or equivalent certifications.
- 5+ years Microsoft Active Directory experience (Structure, GPOs, Health, etc).
- 3+ years VMWare ESX administration, over multiple SAN/WAN protocols, in clustered and non-clustered environments.
- 2+ years network design and troubleshooting experience (DNS, Routing, Traffic Management).
- 1+ years Information Security Experience.
- 1+ years telecommunications experience.
- Solid OSI model comprehension.
- 5+ years in a technical support role.
- Demonstrated history of exceptional customer service Strong Microsoft product suite knowledge, with emphasis on Visio and/or other technical infrastructure documentation products.
- Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with or knowledge of Disaster Recovery philosophies and methodologies, including practical experience.
- Experience with or knowledge of Business Continuity philosophies and methodologies, including practical experience.
- 1+ years Visual Basic Scripting Experience.
- 2+ years VDI Experience.
- 2+ years Veeam Experience.
- 1+ years RSA SecureID Experience.
- 1+ years SQL Server Administration.
- 1+ years Network Appliance configuration/support (Storage Infrastructure, Caching Appliances, Operations Management, SAN protocols).
- 1+ years System Center or other centralized management technologies.
- 1+ years Symantec Antivirus using centralized management tools.
