The Aalto School of Electrical Engineering (ELEC) promotes high-quality science, technology and innovations for the benefit of the Finnish society and humanity. With our research, we seek to respond to many challenges posed by sustainable development and the results are applied, for example, in mobile devices, electrical networks, health care, and in satellites. School's special strength is linking the research with the Finnish and international business sector. We enroll currently approximately 2000, and award around 250 master's and 50 doctoral degrees annually. Our staff consists of over 700 individuals, including more than 70 professors.
We are now looking for a Corporate Relations Manager for the School of Electrical Engineering (ELEC)

Your role and goals
In this role you will support ELEC and its leadership team in their mission to systematically foster the mindset and engagement of professors and their research teams toward innovation and corporate cooperation activities. You will oversee at least one Aalto level strategic partnership, characterized by a long-term collaboration history and significant research collaboration volume. You will also support and grow other existing partnerships as a key account manager and prospect new partners. Your day-to-day job includes also onboarding new professors to corporate activities and helping academics in building research partner consortiums when applying for public research funding.
You will be part of Aalto level Corporate Relations unit where your supervisor and colleagues support you in your daily activities. You will do daily work at ELEC where you work closely with ELEC's leadership and research teams, other staff members, and external partners. ELEC gives you strategic and practical guidance, and you will report in matrix to the dean of ELEC.
Your key responsibilities will be to
- Drive partnership development, elevate existing industry collaborations and identify new partner companies across relevant sectors (e.g., electrical engineering, microelectronics, semiconductor, energy, automation, telecom, artificial intelligence), from multinational corporations to SMEs and startups
- Facilitate new research, development and innovation (RDI) initiatives by connecting industry needs with Aalto's expertise, building strong consortia, and securing funding (e.g., Business Finland)
- Plan and organize steering group and CEO meetings, workshops and stakeholder events together with Aalto's top management as well as and professors and scientists across schools
- Help Aalto professors and researchers to build networks and find new industry contacts.
- Initiate and contribute to development of Aalto's corporate collaboration offerings, processes, communications and ways of operating.
To succeed in this role you need
- A master's or doctor's degree ideally with subject matter expertise in a relevant field of ELEC (e.g., electrical engineering, automation, telecom, artificial intelligence)
- Experience of working with external partners or customers
- Excellent command in English and preferably fluency in Finnish
- Excellent organizational and collaborative skills
- Goal oriented, hands-on approach with openness to diverse tasks and the ability to deliver from idea to implementation
