Position Specific Description
The Lead Project Manager for the Renewable Fuels Team will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our renewable fuel production facilities. This position requires advanced knowledge of reliability engineering principles and practices to identify, analyze, and mitigate reliability risks. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to develop and manage the reliability program to improve equipment reliability, optimize maintenance strategies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement reliability strategies for renewable fuel production facilities to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct reliability analyses such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) to identify and address potential reliability issues.
- Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to monitor equipment performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Lead and participate in reliability improvement projects, including equipment upgrades, process optimizations, and technology implementations.
- Prepare and present detailed engineering reports, reliability studies, and action plans to senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain reliability databases, metrics, and dashboards to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting complex equipment issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in reliability engineering, renewable fuel technologies, and industry best practices.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and Operations personnel, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations in all reliability engineering activities.
The Ideal Candidate Would Have the Following
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is also preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering within the energy, chemical, or related industry, with a focus on renewable fuels being a plus.
- Strong knowledge of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Proficiency in performing reliability analyses such as FMEA, RCA, and RCM.
- Experience with reliability data analysis software and tools (e.g., Weibull analysis, reliability block diagrams, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of renewable fuel production processes, equipment, and industry standards is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification is preferred.
This candidate must be willing to travel to various production sites across the US as required. Travel is estimated to be 30%.

- Conducts external research and stays abreast of new developments or innovative advancements pertaining to the project
- Provides coaching, leadership and direction to project team
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
