About the role

At AGL, we're helping businesses transition to a smarter, more sustainable energy future. Our Sustainable Business Energy Solutions (SBES) team is at the forefront of delivering innovative energy solutions across Australia, including commercial solar, virtual power plants, energy storage, power factor correction (PFC), and energy efficiency solutions.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a critical role in bringing these solutions to life. You'll lead the end-to-end delivery of commercial energy projects from contract award through to customer handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create outstanding customer outcomes while driving profitability and growth for the business. We are open to applications from both Melbourne or Sydney.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of commercial solar and energy storage projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, suppliers, contractors, and customers to drive seamless project execution and exceptional customer outcomes.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, procurement, logistics, and reporting through NetSuite and project management systems.
  • Oversee contractor and supplier performance, ensuring high-quality installation standards, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety requirements.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor project progress, stakeholder relationships, safety performance, and installation quality.
  • Drive project excellence through effective project closeout, continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned, and mentoring junior project managers.

Who We're Looking For

  • Seasoned experience in project management, engineering, or a related field, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and contractors.
  • Strong customer focus, stakeholder management skills, and excellent attention to detail, communication, and reporting capabilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and compliance, with knowledge of PV industry regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work independently in remote or field-based environments and deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering or a related discipline are advantageous.
  • Preferred experience includes commercial solar projects, CEC accreditation, Working at Heights certification, and familiarity with NetSuite, Procore, CAD, SMA, and SolarEdge products.
