Position Specific Description

  • Position is based in Broward County, Florida, with primary responsibility for supporting Broward, Collier, and Lee Counties, while also contributing to statewide programs and initiatives.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of the Broward County community, including key stakeholders, nonprofit organizations, civic leaders, business organizations, and community influencers.
  • Must be available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business and community needs require.
  • Must be able to lift and move materials weighing 50 pounds or more and assist with event setup and breakdown activities.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time during events, community engagements, volunteer activities, and sponsorship activations.
  • Required to travel frequently throughout the assigned service territory and other FPL regions, as well as to the corporate office, as needed.
  • Must participate in emergency operations and storm restoration activities, including working extended and non-traditional hours when required.
  • Position will report out of the Plantation Office.
  • This is an in-office position; remote work is not available.
  • Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.

Job Overview

Employees in this role develop and execute community relations plans in support of the company's community involvement strategy by identifying, evaluating, and managing local community issues in a manner that builds or enhances positive relationships with community organizations and key stakeholders.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluates requests for company investment/involvement and provide recommendations
  • Supervises charitable contribution payment approval, accounting and processing
  • Implements and supervises employee volunteerism policies and processes
  • Supervises community involvement programs and foundation programs
  • Provides research, analysis, and planning assistance of all community involvement efforts
  • Maximizes positive visibility and impact through cost-effective promotion and communication
  • Coordinates responses to community requests for charitable and community involvement
  • Supervises the collection and reporting of information on community involvement efforts
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
