What They Do
Kaluza is a London-based energy software company that specializes in a real-time SaaS platform designed to optimize energy operations, integrate smart devices, and support decarbonization for utilities worldwide. The company was launched as a spin-out from OVO Energy, which recognized the need for a platform capable of managing smart meter data, EV chargers, solar inverters, and dynamic tariffs to facilitate the sustainable energy transition. Kaluza's technology is built on a cloud-native, modular architecture that leverages AI-driven forecasting to enable dynamic load balancing and renewable integration, making it a pivotal player in the energy sector (source: sustainabletimes.co.uk).
Projects & Track Record
Kaluza has made significant strides in the energy sector, notably powering OVO's acquisition of a large UK incumbent, which allowed it to consolidate tech stacks and become the UK's fourth-largest energy provider. The company manages over six million meters and has successfully delivered over 100 GWh of load optimization through its innovative tariffs. Major ongoing projects include deploying its platform for AGL Energy in Australia, following a substantial $100 million investment and licensing agreement, as well as a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation aimed at enhancing energy solutions for utilities and automakers in Japan. Additionally, Kaluza signed a multi-year global agreement with Engie in September 2025, which will enable real-time intelligence for distributed energy resources across Engie's extensive consumer contracts (source: eurelectric.org).
Recent Developments
In June 2024, Kaluza secured a $100 million investment and licensing deal from AGL Energy, which significantly boosted its valuation to $500 million. This investment is particularly timely, given the current volatility in energy prices and the growing demand for EV and solar solutions. Shortly thereafter, Kaluza launched a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation to expand its operations in Japan, targeting utilities and automakers. In September 2025, the company further solidified its market position by signing a multi-year global agreement with Engie, which followed a rigorous technology evaluation process. This agreement will facilitate the optimization of distributed energy resources across Engie's markets, showcasing Kaluza's leadership in the energy transformation space (source: kaluza.com).
Working There
Kaluza offers a dynamic work environment with roles spanning engineering, product development, commercial/sales, operations, and sustainability. The company is focused on building teams that specialize in various platform modules, including energy optimization, billing, customer care, and data intelligence. Recent leadership additions, such as a Chief Commercial Officer, reflect Kaluza's commitment to expanding its teams in key markets like the UK, Australia, Japan, and the US. The company culture is mission-driven, emphasizing innovation and a shared goal of accelerating the clean energy transition. Kaluza's B Corp certification and commitment to net zero by 2030 further illustrate its dedication to purpose-led operations (source: kaluza.com).

Job Description
Kaluza is the Energy Intelligence Platform, turning energy complexity into seamless coordination. We help energy companies overcome today's challenges while accelerating the shift to a clean, electrified future. Leveraging Data, AI, and real-time decision-making we turn energy complexity into growth opportunities for our partners.
By combining predictive algorithms with human-centred design, Kaluza makes clean energy dependable and affordable.
With teams across Europe, North America, Asia and Australia, and a joint venture with Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan, we power leading companies including OVO, AGL and ENGIE, as well as innovators like Volvo and Volkswagen
What will I be doing?
Reporting to the VP Product & Tech Operations, you'll own the timely, predictable execution of our Product & Technology roadmap, for Kaluza and for our clients, across our global product, field deployment, and platform foundations teams. You'll line-manage Heads and Group Delivery Managers, set the standard for how delivery is done across the function, and provide the leadership confidence around what we can deliver, both near-term and further ahead. You'll move fluently between board-level narrative and the detail of a single stuck dependency.
The role spans four focus areas
- Run delivery at scale - own predictable, end-to-end execution across your portfolio.
- Implementing an AI-native system of work - make AI-assisted delivery the default and raise the bar on how delivery is done, partnering with our P&T business operations team to implement best practices across our product development lifecycle (PDLC) that are designed and standardised by the Business Operations team.
- Grow an independent, high-performing delivery community - build a function that solves its own problems, and has a "yes if" attitude to solving the inevitable challenges of the day to day.
- Partner and Influence at the Executive Level
Run delivery at scale
Own and drive successful delivery across Kaluza's Product and Tech organisation, typically multiple streams that may align to client programmes or global initiatives.
- Own end-to-end delivery of the Product & Tech roadmap across your area, e.g. across multiple client streams (OVO & ENGIE in Europe, AGL & Shell in APAC) or multiple global product streams.
- Implement evolutions of a standard methodology that allows the business to scale and ensures successful client implementations
- Drive absolute roadmap alignment, delivery enablement and reporting at multiple levels, from team detail to executive overview.
- Bring confidence to what we can deliver, near-term and further ahead through robust capacity planning, milestone tracking (actuals vs estimates), forecasting, and proactive management and resolution of cross-team dependencies.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, UX and Client Delivery leadership so deliverables meet client capabilities, support needs and timelines, and so client feedback flows back into the delivery process.
- Provide objective, data-led neutral insight on how delivery is really going; proactively escalate risks and issues early, and drive decisions with senior leadership and clients.
- Embed good practices into our internal delivery management practices that are developed by the Business Operations team, and provide input to shape their future roadmap.
- Deputise for the VP when needed.
Implement an AI-native system of work through delivery
Lead the strategic evolution of our delivery practices by embedding AI-assisted methodologies into default operational workflows
- Embed AI-assisted delivery into reporting, forecasting, capacity and effort analysis, dependency mapping, risk detection and status communication.
- Push the boundaries of Jira, JQL and agentic workflows; build dashboards and reporting that drive development forward at pace and replace manual effort.
- Simplify and standardise practice across Product & Tech: refine ways of working, embed Agile & Lean practice, and raise predictability and the effort-to-value ratio in your area.
- Act as a change driver, co-own the delivery of a roadmap of improvements to our system of work alongside Business Operations, and bring people with you through the change.
- Champion continuous improvement and show the function what good, AI-native delivery looks like in practice.
Grow an independent, high-performing delivery community
Build a self-sufficient, empowered function that is a gold standard for getting things done, effectively, and with transparency.
- Lead and develop a group of people leaders and delivery managers, Heads of, Group and Lead) Delivery Managers, setting clear objectives, focus and clarity.
- Coach the team to navigate complexity and uncertainty, to self-solve, and to bias their effort towards Kaluza's goals and our client commitments.
- Know the product and coach the team to understand the product domain for their area so that they can enable cross-functional team delivery of the product roadmap and client delivery goals
- Mentor and upskill across the community; show the team what good looks like and raise the standard across the board.
- Clear the barriers that stop Product teams focusing on innovation and strategy, and Engineering teams focusing on technical excellence and execution.
- Support the Delivery function in achieving its strategy and goals, and champion the wider change and planning agenda.
- Be an innovative thinker and member of the larger Kaluza SLT team to drive the business forward.
Partner and Influence at the Executive Level
- Act as a trusted partner to Product, Engineering, UX, and Client Delivery leadership, serving as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)
- Confidently manage relationships with C-level clients.
- Deliver objective tracking, milestone visibility + forecasting, and proactive risk mitigation strategies to leadership, while serving as a strategic deputy for the VP of Product & Tech Operations when required
