BURN Manufacturing is seeking an experienced Senior Strategy Associate with a demonstrated strength in business plan writing to join its Strategy team. This role sits at the heart of BURN's growth agenda, new market entry, manufacturing investment decisions, and board-level reporting. The ideal candidate combines rigorous financial and market analysis with the ability to translate complex strategic thinking into clear, compelling, investment-ready business plans and pitch materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of business plans, for equity raises, debt financing, and new product or market launches.
- Build and maintain financial models to support business case development and capital allocation decisions.
- Conduct market sizing, competitive intelligence, and policy/regulatory scans to inform market entry and expansion strategy across African markets.
- Translate strategic recommendations into structured, board-ready documents, one-pagers, and executive briefings.
- Partner with teams to gather inputs and validate assumptions underpinning business plans.
- Prepare materials for Board meetings, investor updates, and senior leadership reviews and follow-up tracking where required.
- Contribute to ad hoc strategic projects, including organizational studies, competitor benchmarking, and process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or relevant master's degree is an advantage.
- 4-7 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or a corporate strategy function.
- Demonstrated strength in business plan writing, able to produce clear, structured, investor-grade documents with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
- Experience in manufacturing, energy, climate, or emerging markets is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver high-quality output under tight deadlines.
