Canadian Solar is seeking a Business Strategy Analyst to join the Commercial Operations team. This role will serve as a key contributor in supporting commercial performance, operational planning, business analytics, and strategic decision-making across the MSS organization.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to analyze business performance, develop operational insights, support forecasting and planning activities, and drive process improvements. This individual will operate with a high degree of ownership and autonomy while helping leadership make informed decisions through data-driven analysis, financial evaluation, and business reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain financial and operational models to support business planning, forecasting, resource allocation, and performance management.
- Perform P&L analysis, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and KPI tracking across business units and programs.
- Build executive dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that provide visibility into commercial and operational performance.
- Analyze business trends, operational metrics, and financial results to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews by preparing executive-level reports and presentations.
- Partner with Finance, Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to improve business processes and drive operational effectiveness.
- Evaluate and recommend process improvements that enhance productivity, scalability, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct market, customer, and competitive analyses to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
- Assist with annual operating plans, long-range planning, and business performance reviews.
- Support leadership in developing business cases, investment analyses, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Manage special projects and strategic initiatives from analysis through implementation.
- Present findings, recommendations, and performance insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Operations, or a related field required.
- MBA from a top-tier program preferred.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and business analytics capabilities.
- Experience working with P&L reporting, operational metrics, and performance management processes.
- Demonstrated ability to translate large data sets into actionable business insights and executive-level recommendations.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of commercial operations and organizational performance drivers.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business intelligence/reporting tools.
- Experience building executive dashboards, KPI scorecards, and management reporting packages preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within consulting, corporate strategy, FP&A, business operations, commercial operations, or operational excellence functions preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing, renewable energy, technology, industrial, or infrastructure-related businesses is a plus.
- Second language proficiency in Chinese or Spanish is a plus.

The pay range for this position is $105,000 - $130,000 USD. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
