What They Do

Ingrid Capacity is an energy technology company specializing in the development and operation of grid flexibility infrastructure, with a core focus on battery energy storage systems and advanced optimization software (source: ingridcapacity.com). Founded in 2022, the company designs and structures innovative energy supply and capacity solutions, including tolling and floor agreements, to support constrained electricity grids (source: ingridcapacity.com). Their proprietary trading and optimization platform enhances grid utilization and stability by managing flexible assets across Europe, targeting system operators, energy users, and power producers in grid-constrained markets (source: notified.com). Ingrid Capacity positions itself as a Nordic leader in energy storage, actively supporting electrification through scalable battery assets and energy contracting structures (source: business-sweden.com).

Projects & Track Record

Ingrid Capacity operates more than 200 MW/MWh of battery energy storage and has approximately 270 MW/340 MWh under construction in Sweden and Finland, with a development pipeline exceeding 6 GW across Europe (source: business-sweden.com). A flagship project is the Nordics’ largest battery energy storage system currently in the design phase in Horsaryd, Sweden, with a planned capacity of 100 MW/200 MWh (source: ingridcapacity.com). Another key milestone was the 2026 opening of a battery storage facility in Rättvik, developed in partnership with SEB Nordic Energy Fund and Locus Energy, aimed at enhancing grid flexibility in western Sweden (source: ingridcapacity.com). The company has also expanded cross-border, including a strategic partnership with French developer Wattmen and a collaboration with Germany’s Energiequelle to develop 200 MW of grid-connected battery systems, where Ingrid manages financing, operation, and optimization (source: windbranche.de).

Recent Developments

In 2026, Ingrid Capacity announced it had doubled its battery storage portfolio, surpassing 1 GWh in capacity, reflecting rapid scaling of its operating and construction assets (source: ingridcapacity.com). The company also formalized its corporate leadership with appointments including Axel Holmberg as CEO and Erik Sellstedt as CFO, signaling maturation of its organizational structure (source: ingridcapacity.com). Strategic partnerships have been a focus, such as the February 2026 alliance with Wattmen to expand in continental Europe and the late 2025 collaboration with Energiequelle in Germany to develop large-scale battery storage projects (source: ingridcapacity.com). These moves support Ingrid’s ambition to broaden its footprint beyond the Nordics into France, Poland, and Germany (source: business-sweden.com).

Working There

Ingrid Capacity offers roles primarily in engineering, grid optimization, energy markets and trading, business development, finance, communications, and project development, reflecting its technical and commercial focus on intelligent grid infrastructure (source: ingridcapacity.com). The company’s culture emphasizes fast growth, European expansion, and specialization in cutting-edge energy storage technologies rather than traditional utility models (source: linkedin.com). Headquartered in central Stockholm, Ingrid Capacity maintains a dynamic environment suited for professionals interested in shaping the future of flexible energy systems across Europe.

Job Description

Ingrid was born out of a simple belief: the energy transition must move faster and work smarter. We're pioneers at the forefront of the global energy transition - pushing boundaries, turning bold ideas into reality, and solving the problems that matter most.

The INtelligent GRID of tomorrow needs to absorb and release more power. We develop, build and operate high-performance batteries - the lungs of modern energy infrastructure - enabling a more flexible and resilient energy supply across Europe. With 500 MW already deployed across the Nordics and rapid expansion into continental Europe, we manage, optimise and trade both our own assets and those of third parties through our sophisticated tech platform, making every battery - and the entire grid - stronger.

About the role

We are looking for a Construction Project Manager to lead the deployment of Ingrid's battery energy storage projects across the Nordics and Germany. You'll contribute to project design, procurement and construction readiness before the investment decision, and from FID you take full ownership - timeline, budget, quality and HSE - through handover to Asset Management at Commercial Operation. You will report to our Head of Construction and play a key role in scaling Ingrid's project delivery across Europe.

What you'll do

Before investment decision (FID), you'll be part of the project team that optimizes the project; value engineering of site conditions, layout, permits and grid agreements, deliver input on construction cost and schedule and support the procurement process.

From FID, the project is yours. You'll lead the project team, all contractors and consultants alongside local Site Manager. You'll have full ownership of budget, time schedule as well as quality and HSE in the project and manage all project stakeholders including grid owners, local community, authorities and investors. You'll drive commissioning with the BESS OEM, coordinate ancillary market prequalification tests, and deliver a clean COD handover as well as continuously feed lessons learned into the next project.

Projects span multiple markets, so comfort with different regulatory environments, grid codes and contractor markets is part of the job - as is regular travel to sites across the Nordics and Germany.

Your work experience

What we require:

  • At least 5 years of project management experience in renewable energy, energy storage, power infrastructure, or similar
  • A track record of delivering projects from pre-construction through to COD, with accountability for budget, timeline, quality and HSE
  • A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related technical or commercial field
  • Fluent in English
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel regularly to project sites

What we see as a strong plus:

  • Experience from energy storage projects
  • Experience supporting procurement for major contracts - tendering, bid evaluation and contract administration
  • Experience working across multiple countries or regulatory environments, navigating different permitting regimes, HSE legislation, grid codes, and local contractor markets.
  • Experience from working with international standard contracts such as FIDIC, Orgalime, ABT, YSE
  • Proficiency in Swedish, Finnish or German
  • Project management certification

Your personal skills

You bring structure to complex multi-contractor projects - but it's your ownership mentality that sets you apart.

  • Self-directing and decisive - thrives in a lean organization and takes decisions without waiting for a mandate
  • Firm but fair stakeholder manager - clear with investors and senior management, appropriately firm with contractors
  • Safety leader at heart - treats HSE as non-negotiable, not a compliance exercise
  • Technical literacy and commercial acumen: you engage credibly with engineering topics and evaluate trade-offs between technical solutions and commercial outcomes

Why join us?

At Ingrid, we're pioneers at the forefront of the global energy transition - pushing boundaries, turning bold ideas into reality, and solving what matters most. Our culture is built on Bold Impact Curious Grit Inspiring Collaboration. We believe a thriving organisation runs on trust, growth, and learning from mistakes - and that wellbeing matters as much as work. From lunch & learns to social activities, we make space to connect, recharge, and thrive together.

Next step

We'll make selections on an ongoing basis and finalise the recruitment as soon as we've found the perfect match.

We look forward to hearing from you!
