Job Description
As Head of Risk you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the firm's risk management framework across market, credit, liquidity, and operational risk. Ensures trading activity stays within defined risk appetite while supporting profitable growth.
Requires strong expertise in financial markets and risk modelling, with judgment and the ability to make high-stakes decisions in fast-paced environments. Works closely with trading, quant, and technology teams.
Leads risk limit setting, real-time exposure monitoring, system and control enhancements, and regulatory compliance. Drives improvements in risk analytics, stress testing, and scenario analysis to support firm-wide decision-making.
Conducted trade book analysis and risk monitoring, including position risk, counterparty risk, and VaR assessment. Managed counterparty and position limits, ensuring adherence to risk frameworks. Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Energy Management, or a related field
- Experience with VaR analysis
- 5-10 years of demonstrated experience in commodity, power, or renewable energy trading, with a strong preference for exposure to European wholesale energy and electricity markets
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing trading teams in a fast-paced and performance-driven environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
- Strong decision-making abilities and the confidence to operate effectively under pressure and in volatile market conditions
- Fluency in English; additional European languages are considered a plus
