What They Do
Torus specializes in designing, engineering, manufacturing, and deploying distributed "mesh energy infrastructure" and commercial-scale energy storage and management systems that integrate flywheel storage, battery storage, advanced software, and cybersecurity technologies (source: torus.co). Their flagship product, Torus Station, combines the Torus Spin flywheel with the Torus Pulse battery energy storage system, enhanced by AI-powered management and virtual power plant capabilities, delivering resilient and secure energy solutions for utilities, data centers, manufacturers, and commercial and industrial facilities (source: finance.yahoo.com). The flywheel technology provides rapid response for grid stabilization, while the battery system supports longer-duration energy loads, positioning Torus as a leader in resilient distributed power rather than traditional renewable project development (source: torus.co). Their vertically integrated U.S. manufacturing model, including the expansive GigaOne plant and South Salt Lake facility, enables faster deployment and enhanced operational resilience compared to conventional alternatives (source: finance.yahoo.com). Torus serves a diverse customer base spanning utilities, commercial real estate, affordable housing, data centers, industrial facilities, and defense sectors (source: businesswire.com).
Projects & Track Record
Torus has established a strong project portfolio including a 26 MWh energy storage agreement with Gardner Group announced in May 2024, which covers multiple commercial real estate properties with installation scheduled to begin in Q4 2024 and completion expected by Q1 2026 (source: businesswire.com). In September 2024, Torus announced a commercial energy storage installation at Trolley Lane, an affordable housing complex in Salt Lake City, further expanding its footprint in community-focused projects (source: businesswire.com). The company completed a solar-and-storage installation at La Diana Market in Salt Lake City in January 2025, showcasing its integration capabilities in commercial retail environments (source: businesswire.com). Additionally, Torus technology supports the Rocky Mountain Power Wattsmart Battery program, providing virtual power plant services such as demand response, energy arbitrage, and frequency regulation, demonstrating its role in advanced grid services (source: torus.co).
Recent Developments
In May 2024, Torus celebrated the grand opening of its new 44,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility in South Salt Lake, marking a significant milestone in its manufacturing scale-up efforts (source: torus.co). The company secured the Gardner Group energy storage deal and announced additional installations in affordable housing and grocery retail sectors throughout 2024, reinforcing its expanding commercial presence (source: businesswire.com). By July 2026, Torus' GigaOne factory had set a weekly production record, increasing output by over 76% since commencing operations six months prior, highlighting rapid manufacturing growth (source: finance.yahoo.com). The company also earned prestigious accolades including the TIME Best Invention of 2024 award for its Torus Spin flywheel and a 2025 R&D 100 Award, underscoring its innovation leadership (source: finance.yahoo.com).

Torus is actively hiring across multiple disciplines including engineering, hardware development, manufacturing, commercial sales, and operations, reflecting its rapid growth trajectory and expanding production capabilities (source: torus.co). Job Description
Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 545,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called GigaOne. We are the world's first mesh energy infrastructure, uniting communities through resilient, sustainable, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid. Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.
Torus has raised over $267 million from investors like Magnetar, Mercado, ICONIQ and Origin Ventures. The investments are helping to accelerate deployment of modular power plants across utilities, data centers, and industrial sectors. This investor confidence reflects the strength of our team, technology as well as the scale of the problem we are solving.
At Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports and strengthens our electrical grid, critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.
About the Role
As the Swing Shift Facilities Maintenance Technician at Torus, you will serve as the mechanical and operational backbone of our physical environment during night operations. Reporting to the Facilities Lead, you will execute task priorities handed off by the day shift crew while maintaining a strong, reliable presence on the floor to independently troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
In this highly dynamic role, you will be a proactive, high-energy problem solver responsible for a wide spectrum of technical trades-ranging from precise interior finishes and contractor oversight to supporting the setup, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial machinery, conveyor systems, and high-pressure pneumatic airlines. Operating without on-site day-shift support, you will take ownership of your shift by preventing downtime, executing facilities tasks safely, and keeping our production environment running smoothly.
Who You Are
You are a versatile, multi-talented facilities professional who takes deep pride in the physical space around you. Driven by a strong internal motor, you are comfortable working independently without direct oversight, exercising sound technical judgment, and addressing building and utility needs with high energy and urgency. You possess a confident, capable presence on the floor, excellent hands-on problem-solving instincts, and strong communication skills to interpret English technical manuals and coordinate with night contractors or shift staff. You are a growth-minded practitioner eager to apply your broad building trades skills and build a long-term career alongside our rapidly evolving team.
