Job description
Antec is growing its Product Solutions business unit to develop and commercialise scalable reactor-based solutions for the biogas and wastewater treatment markets.
We are looking for a hands-on Product Solutions Engineer who will work directly with our Chief Product Officer across product development, customer solutions and technical sales.
This broad role sits at the intersection of engineering, product and commercial development. You might refine a reactor configuration one day and prepare a customer process concept and technical proposal the next.
Priorities can move quickly. We need someone who enjoys taking ownership, works well with incomplete information and rolls up their sleeves to move the business forward.
Your responsibilities
Product development
- Translate customer needs, market requirements and operational insights into clear product requirements and improvements
- Support the development, standardisation and optimisation of Antec's reactor technology and product solutions, including cost reduction and modularisation
- Develop and maintain design bases, datasheets, specifications, equipment requirements and standard configurations
- Coordinate technical input across internal teams, suppliers, engineering partners and project stakeholders
- Support testing, operational data analysis and continuous improvement to better understand product performance and operating limits
Customer solutions and proposals
- Work with commercial colleagues and customers to understand feedstock, process, capacity and performance requirements
- Develop fit-for-purpose technical concepts, including preliminary sizing, utility requirements, mass and energy balances and overall system configuration
- Prepare block flow diagrams, basic process flow diagrams, preliminary equipment lists and other supporting engineering documentation
- Define technical scope, interfaces, assumptions, exclusions and performance requirements
- Prepare the technical content of customer proposals, presentations and tender submissions
- Support preliminary cost estimates and coordinate supplier quotations where required
- Participate in customer meetings and clearly communicate Antec's proposed technical solution
- Help ensure a structured handover from sales and proposal development into project execution
Building Product Solutions
- Develop the tools, templates, standard solutions and configuration processes required to scale the Product Solutions business unit
- Support market assessments, partner evaluations, supplier engagement and business-case development
- Contribute to product roadmaps and the prioritisation of development initiatives
- Take ownership of cross-functional technical and commercial workstreams, proactively addressing gaps and moving the business forward
Who we are looking for
You are an engineer who combines technical capability with commercial awareness and a practical, delivery-focused mindset.
You are comfortable moving between detailed engineering topics and higher-level customer or business discussions. You do not need every problem to be perfectly defined before getting started, and you enjoy creating structure where it does not yet exist.
You will ideally have:
- Five or more years of relevant experience, although capability and potential are more important than a specific number of years
- A degree in process, chemical, mechanical, environmental or a related engineering discipline, with experience in biogas, wastewater treatment, energy, industrial equipment or a comparable technical environment
- Experience in technical proposals, concept development or early-phase engineering, including the ability to produce block flow diagrams and basic process flow diagrams
- A sound understanding of process equipment, piping, utilities and interfaces, with the ability to translate customer needs into practical technical solutions
- Strong English communication skills; Norwegian is beneficial but not essential
- A structured approach, commercial awareness and strong attention to detail
- The confidence to take ownership and work effectively in a growing, fast-moving organisation
- Experience with mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, CAD or process-modelling tools is beneficial
What success looks like
During your first year, you will have:
- Helped mature and standardise Antec's core product solutions
- Improved proposal quality and speed through reusable engineering documents, templates, product tools and credible customer concepts
- Taken ownership of development and commercialisation workstreams, helping Product Solutions become more structured, scalable and commercially effective
Why join Antec?
This is an opportunity to work closely with Antec's leadership team and have a direct influence on how our products, technology and business develop.
You will have considerable responsibility, a varied workload and the freedom to shape both the role and the Product Solutions business unit. Your work will contribute directly to practical, scalable solutions for the biogas and wastewater treatment markets.

About this role
About Antec
Company Overview
Antec Biogas
HeadquartersOslo, Norway
Founded2011
SizeApproximately 30 employees and annual revenue of $3 million as of 2025 (source: rocketreach.co, norselab.com).
What They Do
Antec Biogas specializes in renewable energy through biogas production technology, focusing on advanced anaerobic digestion processes. The company utilizes patented modular biofilm reactors that employ plug-flow technology, mimicking natural processes to enhance bacterial growth and optimize biogas yield. These reactors are capable of processing various organic waste materials, including food waste, animal manure, and sewage sludge, to produce biogas for electricity, heat, and renewable fuels like liquefied biomethane. Antec's technology achieves an impressive gas yield of 95-98% in just seven days, significantly faster than traditional continuous stirred tank reactors (CSTRs), which typically take much longer (source: norselab.com, businessnorway.com). The scalability of their plants ranges from 1,500 to over 100,000 metric tons of biomass per year, allowing for tailored solutions to meet diverse client needs.
Projects & Track Record
Among Antec's notable projects is the RENEVO facility located in Stord, western Norway, which stands as the largest commercial biogas plant in the region. This facility utilizes Antec's innovative technology to convert raw materials from local fisheries and agriculture into liquefied biomethane and organic fertilizer, marking a significant achievement in the company's industrialization efforts. By early 2019, Antec's reactors were set to be incorporated into a major portion of planned biogas plants across Norway, indicating strong local adoption of their technology. The company is actively pursuing global expansion through partnerships with biomass owners, focusing on distributed biomethane plants that are built close to waste generation sites, thereby enhancing efficiency and sustainability (source: biogasworld.com, businessnorway.com). Their installations cater to a variety of applications, including food waste and sewage treatment, showcasing the versatility of their biogas solutions.
Recent Developments
In April 2023, Antec Biogas announced a strategic shift towards turnkey partnerships for biomethane production, where they take full responsibility for the development, construction, ownership, and operation of biogas plants. This initiative aims to scale thousands of distributed facilities in response to the growing global demand for renewable energy. The company has previously been recognized for its innovative technology, winning the SINTEF Bioenergy Innovation Award in 2016, and continues to highlight its competitive advantages, such as faster production rates and higher yields, in promotional materials and public communications (source: biogasworld.com, norselab.com). As of now, there have been no new funding rounds or acquisitions reported since 2023, indicating a focus on consolidating their existing operations and partnerships.
Working There
Antec Biogas, with its team of approximately 30 employees, offers a range of roles primarily focused on engineering, biology, operations, and commercial development. Positions may include reactor design, process optimization, plant management, and partnership development, all centered at their Oslo headquarters. The company culture promotes teamwork and collaboration across various disciplines, fostering an environment where innovation and growth are prioritized. Although specific employee benefits are not detailed in available sources, the emphasis on hands-on project work and the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology suggest a dynamic workplace for those interested in renewable energy solutions (source: rocketreach.co, bioenergy-news.com).
