What They Do
Solar Solution focuses exclusively on solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, specializing in rooftop installations for both residential and commercial customers. The company does not engage in wind, storage, hydrogen, or grid-scale projects, allowing it to concentrate its expertise on solar energy solutions (source: solarpowerworldonline.com). Their core services encompass full in-house solar panel installation, engineering, permitting navigation, utility coordination, and post-installation support, all backed by a 10-year labor warranty. Additionally, they offer internally financed solar programs that require $0 upfront costs and no credit checks for D.C. homeowners and businesses (source: solarsolutiondc.com). By educating clients on system operations, installation processes, and government incentives like SREC credits, Solar Solution positions itself as a dominant player in the local market, leveraging its deep understanding of regional regulations and relationships with agencies such as the DC Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) (source: solarsolutiondc.com). Their differentiators include 17 years of continuous operation, full transparency in cost and output projections, and a commitment to long-term system support, contrasting with transient competitors (source: solarsolutiondc.com).
Projects & Track Record
While specific details on notable completed projects, such as names, capacities in MW, and costs, are not publicly detailed, Solar Solution claims to have completed 7,000 installations, which account for 40% of all solar installations in Washington, D.C. Customer testimonials highlight the effectiveness of their systems in generating SREC credits and reducing energy bills (source: solarsolutiondc.com). The company primarily focuses on residential and commercial rooftop developments within the DMV region, although no current or ongoing major projects are explicitly named in available sources (source: solarpowerworldonline.com). Partnerships include certification as a DC government Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) and Authorized Contractor by DOEE, which enables them to work effectively with local homeowners and businesses (source: solarsolutiondc.com). Their geographic presence remains confined to the Washington, DC area, with no documented expansion beyond the DMV (source: solarmagazine.com).
Recent Developments
No major announcements, contracts won, acquisitions, mergers, or funding rounds have been reported in the last two years. The most recent visibility for Solar Solution is tied to ongoing top contractor listings from Solar Power World, which date back to 2020 and earlier (source: solarpowerworldonline.com). Achievements include NABCEP certification in PV Sales and sustained recognition as the largest local solar installer in D.C., but no new awards, certifications, or milestones have been reported post-2023 (source: solarsolutiondc.com).
Working There
Solar Solution hires across various roles including sales, operations, engineering, and customer success, with all positions based at their headquarters in Washington, DC. Key personnel include residential manager Peter Parker, commercial manager Jabari Baker, and Chief Operations Officer Kathleen dePorter, among others (source: solarsolutiondc.com). The company culture emphasizes local hiring of over 50 DMV-based professionals, fostering community knowledge and high customer satisfaction, as reflected in positive Google reviews praising their responsive and professional teams (source: solarsolutiondc.com).
