The Role

The Mechanical team at CorPower Ocean is looking for an intern/master's thesis student with keen interests in structural analysis, solid mechanics and finite element analysis.

For thesis work placement, projects will be focused on finding and implementing workflow improvements and methodology effectivizations in the structural analysis chain, from input load data sourcing and geometry handling to result evaluations. A part of the project time will be spent getting into the existing methods used at CorPower today, with the intention of improving upon these workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct structural analysis of components featured in our wave energy converter
  • Automate reoccurring FE-tasks
  • Investigate options for improved integration between FE-software and Creo/WindChill
  • Contribute to internal methodology documentation and process improvements

For this project we value experience and interest in

  • Commercial FEA-software (Ansys, HyperMesh, OptiStruct, ABAQUS or equivalent)
