Senior consulting across OT security, risk, and cybersecurity programs.

When OT cybersecurity decisions affect operations, investment priorities, and risk ownership, customers need more than another technical assessment. They need someone who can create clarity, challenge assumptions, and help the organization move forward.

As a Principal OT & Cybersecurity Advisor at Opoura, you will work as a senior consultant with customers across Denmark. Depending on the assignment, you may be embedded within one customer organization for a longer period or advise across several customers, projects, and cybersecurity programs.

We are seeing strong and increasing demand for this level of OT cybersecurity expertise and already have current customer needs and concrete opportunities where relevant profiles may come into consideration. We are therefore building a pipeline of experienced Principal-level advisors we can engage with when there is a strong match.

This is not a vacancy tied to one specific customer or immediate start date. Hiring and timing depend on a concrete customer assignment and the right match between your experience and the customer's needs. When that match is in place, the process toward permanent employment with Opoura can move quickly.

This is a role for someone who wants to stay close enough to the technology to challenge architectures and controls, while operating at a level where your judgment influences risk decisions, priorities, governance, and execution.

Your role

You will join OT Solutions within Opoura's Digital Services business unit. Your day-to-day work will be centered around customer assignments, working with stakeholders across OT, IT, cybersecurity, engineering, architecture, projects, and senior management.

Customers will typically involve you when the issue crosses technical or organizational boundaries. Security and operational priorities may compete. Ownership may be unclear. A complex architecture decision may need resolution. Or a cybersecurity program may need stronger direction and structure.

Your contribution is to create clarity and progress.

That can mean leading a multidisciplinary risk assessment, challenging an OT security architecture, helping management understand the consequences of different treatment options, or establishing structure around a cybersecurity program with several workstreams and dependencies.

You need enough technical depth to challenge network communication, segmentation, access models, controls, and OT architectures. But this is not primarily an implementation engineering position. Your value lies in understanding the technical reality, seeing the wider risk and operational context, and helping the customer reach sound decisions that can actually be executed.

You will report to Kent Weiling, OT Solutions Manager. Customer and partner assignments are across Denmark, and on-site attendance will depend on the individual assignment.

Key responsibilities

Depending on the customer assignment, you will:

  • Lead OT cybersecurity risk assessments across systems, architectures, projects, and technical changes, turning findings into practical treatment options and clearly documented residual risks.
  • Advise on OT security architecture, including segmentation, security zones, network communication, firewall principles, system access, and compensating controls.
  • Translate complex technical findings into decision material that gives risk owners and management a clear view of risks, alternatives, operational consequences, and recommended actions.
  • Structure or lead cybersecurity programs and workstreams, connecting strategy and requirements with priorities, governance, milestones, dependencies, and accountable owners.
  • Resolve complex or stalled security issues by bringing the right stakeholders together, clarifying responsibilities, and establishing a practical way forward.
  • Strengthen customer and Opoura capabilities through professional leadership, knowledge transfer, and reusable methods and documentation.

To be successful in this position, you

  • Build credibility with technical specialists and senior decision-makers and communicate complex issues without oversimplifying them.
  • Distinguish between theoretical security improvements and the actions that materially reduce risk in a real operating environment.
  • Balance cybersecurity ambition with operational continuity, technical feasibility, and business priorities.
  • Create progress when ownership, priorities, or the right solution are not immediately clear.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and are comfortable recommending a direction when several technically valid options exist.
  • Influence across organizational boundaries without relying on formal authority.

Your background

You have built a substantial track record in OT cybersecurity and can operate independently in complex customer environments. Your experience may come from consulting, energy, utilities, industrial organizations, critical infrastructure, or a combination of these.

We expect that you bring several of the following:

  • Extensive experience across cybersecurity, OT/ICS security, security architecture, risk management, or cybersecurity program leadership, typically built over 10+ years.
  • Enterprise-level advisory experience where you have connected technical security issues with operational risks, priorities, and management decisions.
  • Strong experience leading multidisciplinary cybersecurity risk assessments and defining practical treatment plans, residual risks, and ownership.
  • Practical knowledge of OT/ICS systems and architectures, network security, segmentation, firewalls, access controls, and the dependencies that distinguish operational environments from traditional IT.
  • Experience structuring or leading cybersecurity programs with multiple workstreams, governance requirements, stakeholders, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Working knowledge of relevant OT security and cybersecurity governance frameworks, combined with the judgment to apply them pragmatically.

Relevant security, architecture, risk, or program management certifications are an advantage, but demonstrated capability matters more than a particular certification path.

Professional fluency in English is required. Danish is an advantage, but not a requirement.

What we offer

For an experienced cybersecurity advisor, the value of this role is the level and breadth of the problems you get to work on.

You can expect:

  • Assignments where your contribution goes beyond identifying risks. You will help customers decide what to do about them and how to move forward.
  • The opportunity to work across OT technology, security architecture, risk management, governance, and program execution rather than being confined to one discipline.
  • Direct collaboration with technical specialists, risk owners, and senior stakeholders on issues with real operational and business consequences.
  • The possibility of working deeply within one customer environment on a longer assignment or applying your expertise across several customers and programs over time.
  • A high degree of professional autonomy, with customers relying on your judgment rather than asking you to follow a predefined playbook.
  • Permanent employment with Opoura once a suitable assignment is confirmed, combined with the variety and customer exposure of senior consulting.
