The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards and procedures across our EPC projects. The role will oversee quality assurance and quality control activities across our core business areas, including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and High Voltage (HV) Infrastructure/Substations.
The QA/QC Manager will play a key role in ensuring that project execution complies with applicable international standards, project specifications, contractual requirements, and local regulations, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining high-quality standards throughout project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
- Manage and oversee project quality activities to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, contractual requirements, and QMS procedures.
- Drive quality achievement, performance improvement, and continuous improvement across project activities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) for planning, procurement, construction, inspection, testing, documentation, and operational activities.
- Plan and coordinate the activities, responsibilities, and work schedules of QA/QC personnel.
- Establish and maintain quality standards and procedures for project execution and site activities.
- Identify QA/QC personnel certification and training requirements and ensure appropriate development plans are implemented.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical direction to QA/QC personnel and site quality teams.
- Take responsibility for hold-point releases once all required QMS, inspection, and documentation requirements have been satisfactorily completed.
Inspection and Process Management
- Develop and implement risk-based inspection (RBI) activities and project-specific inspection procedures.
- Monitor project site quality and integrity through inspection records, non-conformance reporting, failure analysis, and corrective action follow-up.
- Oversee and coordinate visual inspections and quality activities performed by subcontractors and third-party inspection companies.
- Develop, review, and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) for new construction, installation, repair, and modification activities.
- Ensure that inspections and testing are performed in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, standards, and project requirements.
- Identify quality deficiencies and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor construction processes, equipment, personnel qualifications, inspection activities, and QMS implementation.
- Conduct and/or coordinate internal quality audits and support external and client audits.
- Ensure proper management and close-out of NCRs, observations, punch lists, and quality-related corrective actions.
- Ensure complete and accurate quality documentation and project handover dossiers.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, project requirements, local regulations, and requirements of relevant authorities in Mauritania.
- Monitor and report project quality performance, KPIs, NCRs, inspection results, and corrective actions to project management.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, HSE, Procurement, Project Management, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to resolve quality-related issues.
- Support project teams during inspections, audits, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Ensure that all quality records and documentation are maintained and readily available throughout the project lifecycle.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Supervisor within the scope of responsibilities and project objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in QA/QC management within EPC, renewable energy, power, or infrastructure projects.
- Must-Have: Proven, hands-on experience with Solar PV projects and HV Substations.
- Nice-to-Have: Previous experience with BESS projects is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of international quality standards, inspection procedures, ITPs, NCR management, and QMS implementation.
- Experience working with EPC contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and third-party inspection organizations.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Excellent English language skills (Advanced Level).
- Strong communication, planning, organization, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international project environment.
- Willingness and ability to work on-site and travel to project locations in Mauritania and, when required, other regional project sites.
