Job description
The Logistics Assistant is responsible for managing the flow of materials and supplies necessary for the successful execution of photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. This role ensures that materials are received, stored, and distributed efficiently and accurately, while maintaining strong coordination with suppliers and internal teams. The Logistics Assistant plays a critical role in optimizing the project value chain, supporting seamless operations, and ensuring timely execution of construction activities.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Manage the movement and flow of materials and supplies, ensuring they are received on time, in the correct quantities, and in proper condition.
- Coordinate and control the preparation, storage, and organization of materials to maintain operational efficiency.
- Oversee transportation and distribution operations, ensuring safe and timely delivery to project sites.
- Implement and optimize logistical resources and processes to enhance supply chain efficiency and value creation.
- Maintain ongoing communication with suppliers to ensure timely procurement, delivery, and resolution of material-related issues.
- Distribute materials and supplies to the construction site according to project requirements and schedules.
- Collaborate with other departments, including project management, procurement, and field operations, to ensure coordinated execution of processes and project milestones.
- Develop and execute action plans to anticipate and resolve logistical challenges, maintaining continuity of operations.
Employment Terms
- Local hire position; candidates must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the worksite.

Requirements
We are looking for candidates who bring:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or certificate in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three or more years of experience in construction, preferably within renewable energy or utility-scale projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Willingness to travel and work on remote project sites as required.
Environmental Conditions:
- Predominantly outdoor climate.
- Exposure to:
- Hot or cold weather
- Humidity, rain, or other weather conditions
- Loud noises caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
- Potential exposure to chemical substances
Mobility Barriers:
- Uneven ground
- Obstructed pathways
- Work performed at low and/or high levels of elevations
- Work performed in confined spaces
Requirements and Conditions of Employment
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to company insurance requirements.
- Valid U.S. certification to operate telehandlers (Manitou/rough terrain forklifts/boom lifts).
- Must successfully complete any required motor vehicle record (MVR) review, background screening, and employment verification processes, consistent with applicable laws.
- Must comply with EMC Renewables Drug-Free Workplace Policy and any testing requirements permitted by law.
- Must be able to meet customer, project site, and regulatory access requirements as applicable to the position.
