About Green Solar
Company overview
What they do
Green Solar is an Austrian provider specialising in the sale and installation of photovoltaic systems, combining e-commerce with project-based services for private households. The company offers a wide range of products including balcony solar systems, roof installations, battery storage, inverters, mounting accessories, solar carports and charging stations for electric vehicles, sold both online and on-site in Austria and Germany (source: greensolar.at). Beyond sales, their services include system planning, on-site consultation, installation, support with subsidy applications, as well as official registration and aftercare, providing customers with comprehensive support from purchase to commissioning (source: greensolar.at). The technical focus is on decentralised energy generation installed behind the meter, emphasising self-consumption optimisation, battery storage, emergency power capability, and integration of electric vehicles and heat pumps into home energy management (source: greensolar.at). Product packages come in various sizes, for example, a flat roof package with 8 kWp PV capacity, an 8 kW three-phase Sonnenkraft hybrid inverter and a 5.76 kWh storage unit for €7,399 including 20% Austrian VAT (source: greensolar.at).
Projects and track record
Green Solar focuses on supporting private households in establishing their own photovoltaic systems and has assisted more than 40,000 people on their journey to self-generated electricity since its founding (source: greensolar.at). The company primarily implements residential roof installations, balcony solar systems, solar carports and solar fences, handling not only planning but also installation, construction work and communication with authorities (source: greensolar.at). Offered system sizes range from 6 kWp to 8 kWp and up to 14 kWp, each combined with battery storage from 5.76 kWh to 11.52 kWh, sourced from manufacturers such as Sonnenkraft and Fox ESS (sources: greensolar.at, greensolar.at). The combination of standardised product packages and personalised advice enables Green Solar to offer both simple balcony solutions and more complex battery-supported self-consumption systems (source: greensolar.at).
Current developments
Over the past two years, Green Solar has expanded its online shop and installation activities in Austria and Germany, positioning itself as a leading online retailer for photovoltaic products in both markets (source: greensolar.at). The service portfolio has been extended to include systems with battery storage and emergency power capability, as well as solar carports and solar fences, to meet growing customer demands (sources: greensolar.at, greensolar.at). Management remains under David Pirker, and the company is registered as Green Solar GmbH with headquarters in St. Veit an der Glan (source: greensolar.at).
Working there
Green Solar employs a diverse team that includes not only technical specialists but also staff in logistics, marketing, product management, e-commerce and sales (source: greensolar.at). Available positions range from full-time roles in warehousing and order picking to working student roles in SEO content marketing, as well as specialised roles such as product manager for photovoltaic systems and e-commerce automation. The company combines office and warehouse work at its headquarters in St. Veit an der Glan with mobile installation teams and independent sales representatives operating throughout Austria (source: greensolar.at). The careers page highlights attractive remuneration and describes working as part of a growing photovoltaic e-commerce company that blends technical, logistical and creative skills (source: greensolar.at).
