You are responsible for acquiring large European research and consultancy projects dedicated to smart city developments and lead the exchange with the European Commission. You will contribute to a market relevant research agenda, reflecting the crucial needs of our national and international partners and clients for urban development, urban energy and smart resilient city topics. You will set up, coordinate and manage European projects, specifically our Smart Cities Lighthouse Projects related to the EU Mission on Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, with multiple groups of different stakeholders of the communities. Within the projects you will identify, integrate, and coordinate the experts. You identify relevant and innovative developments in your field and collaborate with municipalities, engineers, architects, and urban planners to strategically apply these planning concepts. You create novel research ideas and develop them for research proposals and applied projects as part of an agile research team. You enjoy networking within the European and Austrian smart city community and will continually grow the team¿s visibility in key networks associated with smart cities and communities and extend our partner city network in Austria and Europe. Your expertise in smart city strategies in the field of energy, mobility, climate and urban planning leads cities towards comprehensive monitoring routines and informed decision-making. You publish in peer-reviewed journals that highlight findings from research projects and present research findings at international conferences.

Your qualifications as an Ingenious Partner:

  • University degree in architecture, urban planning, geography, smart city related studies or specializations
  • Deep cross-sectoral understanding of urban development and it¿s various domains, such as climate neutral cities roadmaps, climate change, energy efficiency, environmental impact assessment, positive energy districts (PED)
  • Smart city related partner network (municipalities, industry, science) and/or membership in relevant professional institutions
  • Several years of experience in industry and/or applied science environment, fulfilling scientific and business-related goals
  • Experience in leading medium to large-sized project teams
  • Ability to initiate, coordinate and track research and consulting projects
  • Experience in planning and conducting physical or virtual workshops
  • Sound scientific track-record
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English

What to expect: The gross annual salary according to the collective agreement amounts to at least EUR 66.976,-- as a basis and is supplemented by further, variable salary components. The actual total salary package is determined individually according to your qualifications and experience.
