Position Expectations

Soltage is seeking an Analyst to join a fast-growing solar and storage developer as a key member of the Investments team. The Investment Analyst will be responsible for building financial models, screening new investment opportunities and growth markets, supporting closing of project and portfolio financings, M&A acquisitions, and managing fundings for projects under construction. The Investment Analyst will also support the leadership team in interacting with the investment community, raising capital and obtaining necessary financing for the company, projects, and M&A.

Specific Job Functions

  • Develop and manage financial models for solar PV and storage projects
  • Participate in all aspects of project underwriting and due diligence activities covering inputs from Engineering, Development, and senior management. Validating assumptions and fool-proofing the model as projects from Development to Construction.
  • Coordinate drafting and delivery of financing materials for Investment Committee
  • Support the origination, structuring, and execution of project financing and M&A transactions
  • Monitor state and federal renewable incentive programs and future trends for new and existing solar and storage projects
  • Develop an understanding of different electricity and capital markets for electricity generating assets (tax equity, lease/buybacks, partnership flips, non-recourse debt and corporate ownership)
  • Present oral or written reports on projects, financial results and research
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • 0-2yrs of relevant experience in renewable energy project finance or infrastructure investing
  • 0-1yrs of Investment Banking/Private Equity internship, employment, or coursework preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior listening, critical thinking, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to work in a dynamic team environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
