Mission

Coordinate the transversal engineering activity to supervise the process of design and development of the European platform renewable projects.

Manage and collaborate actively in the development of engineering design in the different phases: pre-design, basic engineering design, permitting design, tender and executive project of the Wind and PV Plants at country level in coordination with local and corporate teams assuring the most optimized designs and the inclusion of the technical specifications in their most upgrade version to guarantee technical suitability and technical and economic efficiency and the transfer to the local teams.

Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance and to secure the implementation of EDPR technical standards in all new geographies.

Main Accountabilities

  • ENGINEERING MANAGEMENT & PROJECT DESIGN:
    • Development of engineering and design activities in the different project phases: initial permitting and basic engineering, advanced permitting and detailed engineering, tendering processes for construction for different European geographies. Supervise technical feasibility of those designs assuring EDPR technical standards and project specific conditions.
    • Ensure strong communication between local E&C teams and Corporate Areas to facilitate exchange of information and to implement change and improvements and best practices.
  • ENGINEERING TRANSVERSAL SUPPORT:
    • Support the elaboration of the specifications for basic and executive projects that the local engineering teams perform; supervise the technical adequacy of them, ensuring the compliance with EDPR standard and other specific project restraining in close coordination with Corporate areas.
    • Provide technical support in the tender processes and assists E&C local engineering teams and Purchasing Department in the adjudication negotiation to guarantee the best technical-economic conditions in the awarding.
    • Support the local teams along the engineering projects execution, and in particular of the civil infrastructures, coordinating with Operational Support and Technology the needed support.
  • SPECIALIZED STUDIES COORDINATION: Coordinate and validate with other Technical Support Units the execution of specific key studies (Topography, geotechnical study, foundation design, or others) for its integration in the engineering project, to minimize the risk associated to the construction process.
  • SUPPORT TO M&A PROCESS:
    • Collaborate with other Areas to perform Technical Due Diligences to acquire projects in different levels of Development, performing project evaluation, Capex estimations, basic engineering and needed studies.
  • PROVIDERS AND SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT: Establish relationships with the main suppliers and providers for the whole value chain in order to include the most efficient technical and economical options to the engineering designs for each site.
  • STANDARDIZATION:
    • Assure the application of the common standards in the studies and projects, supervising its adaptation to applicable local regulation, in order to avoid non justified deviations and maximize the investment efficiency with all the technical warranty needed. Engineering & Construction best practices definition and implementation.
    • Challenge Technical Standards applicability and verify and justify deviations from them, to assure the technical solvency and the technical-economic efficiency of the projects.
    • Initiate and develop creative and innovative engineering processes.
  • COMPANY POLICY AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE: Understand and apply policies to prevent occupational hazards, environment and quality to ensure implementation and compliance on tasks under their responsibility.
  • EDPR INSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATION: Represent EDPR to agencies and institutions, public and private, in matters relating to its jurisdiction to enforce the interests of EDPR.

Required Profile

  • Qualification:
    • Master’s in civil engineering is required.
    • A postgraduate in Renewable Energies will be valued.
  • Experience:
    • At least 7 years’ experience in similar position, at least 4-years of them in Onshore Wind Farms.
    • PV Plants and HV infrastructure projects experience will be valued.
    • 5 years in planning, design and engineering experience is required.
    • Experience in managing and supervision of engineering projects.
    • Experience in coordination and planning in engineering teams and external engineering companies.
    • Experience in civil area: roads, drainage, foundations, and coordination in preliminary studies (geotechnical, topographical and hydrological).
    • Manage international projects will be valued.
    • Renewable Energy experience is required.
  • Specific requirements:
    • Knowledge of Wind Farms (Roads, platforms and foundation) is required.
    • Knowledge of PV Plants, High Voltages Lines and Electrical Substations projects is desired.
    • AutoCad, Civil 3D,ArcGIS, MSOffice
    • Knowledge of International technical normative
    • Languages: Spanish and English language (Portuguese and others is a plus)
