Rondo Energy's mission is to eliminate 15% of global CO2 emissions in 15 years.

To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". Our Heat Batteries charge from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency - and at a cost point that is lower than any other method.

We are looking for an engineer with experience in high-temperature, low pressure duct design. You will work with the Rondo team and outside partners to ensure effective and cost effective solutions.

What You Will Do

(key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to):

  • Specify and design high-temperature air ducting for RHB heat batteries
  • Work with the Rondo team to ensure effective and well-integrated ducting solution
  • Work with internal Rondo analysis and simulation team to ensure ducting meets the system performance requirements
  • Collaborate with structural engineering team to ensure structural requirements are met
  • Maintain high standards of design quality, reviewing and approving design concepts, drawings, and specifications
  • Highlight gaps and constraints across various stages of projects
  • Coordinate key project schedule requirements with Procurement and Construction partners for the overall success of the project

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 years of experience
  • Proficiency in relevant design software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, SolidWorks, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of engineering disciplines, construction methodologies, and project management practices
  • Strong understanding of the design of ducts, louvers, vents, and general air handling methods in high temperature environments
  • Strong understanding of duct insulating materials and methods. (refractory, rock wool, etc.)

This role necessitates being on-site at our Alameda HQ 3x per week. The estimated annual salary range for a candidate in the Bay Area is $175,000 to $206,000 plus equity in an early-stage, rapidly scaling global company. Additionally, you would be eligible for Rondo's excellent benefits listed above. Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidates' diverse sets of skill levels and experience.
