Job Description

You have a passion for technology and want to make the world a greener place?

Then become a playmaker and join our team as Senior DevOps Engineer Zscaler (f/m/d) at E.ON Digital Technology.

We play a key role in shaping the energy transition by leading E.ON's digital transformation across Europe. We explore new paths by developing ideas, breaking new ground, making visions reality, and bringing new technologies to life. We deliver sustainable technology solutions because…

… it’s on us to make new energy work!

The Team – your impact

Our Software Development chapter represents all experts who deliver essential software development and engineering capabilities to all our product teams. These experts are organized together to keep E.ON’s code base modern, secure, and excellent. You will be part of a Product-Team within Network Security, that is working on the development of a tool for harmonized policy management. The tool will be the central point for every network related policy request.

Your Role – meaningful & rewarding

  • Develop a technology platform using DevOps/GitOps patterns for cloud-native software engineering across Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Implement modern tools (e.g., Crossplane, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, Git) to create secure, resilient, and scalable CI/CD systems.
  • Build and manage cloud resources, set up reactive systems, and implement monitoring and observability.
  • Deliver reusable and immutable infrastructure and application components while supporting existing products transitioning to GitOps.
  • Collaborate with technical architects to align solutions with E.ON’s Common Technology Platform Strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with FinOps principles and maintain clear, project-standard technical documentation.
  • Work agilely, fostering collaboration and sharing knowledge within the team.

Your Profile – authentic & open-minded

  • Strong expertise in software product development and delivery, with deep understanding of GitOps and DevOps approaches.
  • Several years of experience designing and implementing GitOps/DevOps solutions using tools like Crossplane, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD, and Git.
  • Experience in agile software development projects with basic knowledge of network, hosting, and IAM.
  • Knowledge about zero trust based solutions like Zscaler is a plus
  • Solid conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with openness to new challenges and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Independent, self-responsible working style combined with strong teamwork abilities.
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus.

Our Benefits – smart & useful

  • We provide full flexibility: Do your work from wherever you want in Germany; of course including all our great offices (from Hamburg to Munich). You want even more? Go on workation for up to 20 days per year within Europe.
  • Recharge your energy: You have 30 holidays per year (Christmas and New Year´s Eve are always free days). Your battery still needs charging? You can exchange parts of your salary for more holidays or you take a sabbatical.
  • Your development: We grow – and we want you to grow with us! We support you with individual trainings and push your personal and professional development to the next level.
  • We elevate your mobility: From car and bike leasing schemes to job tickets for most of our locations– your way is our way.
  • We also think ahead: With our company retirements scheme and a great insurance package we take care of your future.
  • This is by far not all: We are looking forward to speaking with you about further benefits during the recruiting process.

Inclusion

It is important to us that people with disabilities have access to a fair application process, providing them with an opportunity to shine. Therefore, our representative body for severely disabled people will be included in the process from an early stage. Please let us know via the application form if you require technical or organisational adjustments during the application process. We will strive to make the required aids available.

Should you not be able to apply online and want to speak someone in person, please contact your local recruiter.
