As a Project Manager – Major Projects within the Sustainable Business Energy Solutions (SBES) Team, you will be responsible for safely & successfully managing the delivery of Major Projects from the point of contract to the point of handover to both the Customer and the Asset Management team, creating profitability for the business and great customer experiences. Managing the customer interface following handover the Business Development Team and ensuring that Customers receive the highest level of customer service will also be part of this role.

The work you will be doing will directly contribute to Australia’s largest Commercial & Industrial businesses reaching their decarbonisation goals. At AGL, we're not just changing the game; we're changing the planet for the better, one project at a time!

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the complete delivery of commercial major projects from sale to handover in line with budget, schedule, and quality specifications.
  • Communicating and negotiating with customers and subcontractors to agree contract terms, variations and developing professional partnerships to minimize delays and inefficiencies at their work sites.
  • Engaging and rigorously managing the performance of installation contractors to drive delivery of the highest quality work and achieving value for money on projects.
  • Conducting onsite visits to maintain good visibility and relationships for projects and ensuring appropriate safety, professionalism and installation quality is being delivered.
  • Managing all aspects of project close-out, including preparation of O&M manuals, completion of STC/LGC documentation, customer invoicing, documentation of lessons learned and system handover and training to the customer.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related discipline coupled with experience working on major construction, hybrid energy solution (HES), utility scale solar farm, electrical infrastructure, major high voltage, major energy projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management capability, including demonstrated customer focus and the ability to manage third party consultants and sub-contractors.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a culture of health and safety including attention to detail and the ability to present information clearly and accurately is essential.
  • Knowledge of national and state regulation and guidelines in Electrical and PV industry as well as Construction Induction Training.
  • Experience showing leadership to build a culture of teamwork and behaviours across all teams that align to AGL values.
