Job Description

Nordex Finland is now looking for a Site Manager to join our Project Management team. As a Site Manager, you will support our Project Manager with site planning, preparation and execution. You manage all on-site activities and coordinate the site teams to deliver their scope of work during the site execution phase. The role offers the opportunity to quickly grasp all aspects of wind farms, wind turbine technology and the Nordex way of working. With the support of our specialists, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of turbine operations.

The role involves frequent travel within the Nordic region, primarily in Finland but potentially also in Sweden and Norway. You will be working on a rotation, with 3 weeks working on site and one week off.

YOUR TASKS

  • Leading the arrival at site, erection and commissioning of wind turbines, ensuring that the wind farm can be handed over to the customer and Nordex Service team safely, on-time, and to excellent quality
  • Managing all aspects of safety and environmental requirements at the wind farm site
  • Providing the Project Manager with all necessary reporting and support. This includes reporting of progress; support for claims for extension of time and/or costs to our customers and suppliers; feedback of data on the installed equipment; and formal feedback on quality issues at site
  • Managing all Nordex suppliers at the site including installation, crane and transport companies
  • Creating a successful and enjoyable team with team members drawn from various support departments and nationalities
  • Fostering strong relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders at the wind farm site
  • Offering valuable insights for process improvement and working on specific process improvement actions

YOUR PROFILE

  • Minimum one (1) year of work experience as a Site Manager in wind industry
  • A practical, technical appreciation of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering (LV and MV)
  • Understanding of heavy lifting operations and working at heights
  • A strong knowledge in local Finnish/Swedish Health and Safety legislation and governing rules and regulations. Planning and risk management skills are also important in this position.
  • You have good leadership and team building skills, including good communication skills. You have the ability to define, delegate and communicate objectives clearly.
  • Good English skills, both verbally and written. Finnish and/or Swedish skills are an advantage.
  • You are quick to learn and self-reliant while receiving specialist support from the rest of the team, you will often be working in remote areas with a small team
