In Vestas Power Solutions more than 3000 committed and engaged colleagues work globally to ensure we optimise the product P&L to deliver the right product, for the right market, at the right time and at the right cost. Our three main Technology Centres are in Denmark, Portugal, and India.
Based on the needs of our customers we design, develop, and deliver turbine, plant, and hybrid power solutions. In Power Solutions we cover the full lifetime of our products, from the early exploring and incubation of new technologies to the handling of CIM cases on our installed fleet. The Power Solutions Porto and Chennai build and add capacity and capability to the global engineering organization. Working together with the other Power Solutions in Denmark, Germany and UK, Chennai and Porto Engineering Centres focus on the research and development and engineering support spanning all of Vestas' product portfolio. With a broad engineering capability spanning all engineering disciplines, such as electrical, mechanical, controls, software, data analytics, these centres enhance the global R&D setup, within a creative and energetic environment.

Responsibilities
We have an immediate opening for the position of "Lead Engineer, Powertrain NVH" in the Powertrain Department in Porto, Portugal specializing in the technical leadership of development projects and analysis of Powertrains with focus on numerical methods e.g. Finite Elements and alike.
You will become part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for delivery of complex work packages and technical solutions to the entire Powertrain area, and activities will involve all facets of product development, but with priorities centered on project and work package implementation in close collaboration with teams in Germany, Denmark and Portugal, including:
- Technical management of project development projects, ensuring the projected outcome is realized while mitigating technical risks in close collaboration with the involved teams and stakeholders
- Preparing and conducting project Technical Reviews and regular Progress Reports
- Ensuring alignment of specification and design of systems, parts, tools and components to meet defined requirements
- Facilitating design decisions within the constraint of systems designs, design standards, quality, feasibility, extensibility and maintainability
- Developing and iterating prototypes/simulations to enable informed decision-making including new products and change requests
- Adopting and adapting of design models (3D, 2D, etc.,), material selection, tools and techniques based on the context of the work
Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience:
- More than 5 years of experience in R&D in simulation and analysis of noise and vibration of rotating machinery, especially gearboxes, from Wind Turbines, Aerospace, Heavy Industries, Automotive, etc
- Extensive experience in managing NVH activities in product development projects, especially in the wind industry
Technical Skills:
- Solid knowledge of NVH fundamentals, including dynamic analysis
- Proficiency with NVH simulation tools (e.g. Ansys, Masta)
- Familiar with gearbox design and development processes
Leadership:
- Experience working in or guiding technically cross-functional and multicultural project teams
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. ability to present technical findings clearly to stakeholders
- Fluency in English is mandatory, other languages are beneficial
- Ability to work in a hectic and robust environment
