Job Description

We are looking for a talented HR Business Partner to join our Australian HR team in our mission to build a robust and capable workforce. Reporting to the Head, Human Resources Australia, this newly created position will provide valuable advice and support to managers and employees on all aspects of the employee lifecycle, as well as lead and collaborate on a range of key people-related initiatives aimed at fostering a workplace that values diverse perspectives, high performance, and a strong sense of belonging. Ensuring the successful development and delivery of business-aligned HR projects, in collaboration with the broader HR team, along with managing complex challenges as they arise, will be key to success in this role. This position is based at our Brisbane office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnership: Work collaboratively to shape and execute people and cultural initiatives. Coach leaders on performance management, talent management, organisational design, restructuring, and remuneration.
  • Talent Acquisition & Management: Partner with the Talent Acquisition team on recruitment, onboarding, and retention activities. Support the development and implementation of talent development programs.
  • Learning & Development: Lead initiatives to improve employee productivity and align individual goals with company objectives.
  • Performance, Compensation & Benefits: Support performance and salary review processes. Research, develop, and implement staff benefit and well-being initiatives.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor on HR policies, conflict resolution, and employee relations issues. Ensure compliance with Australia's National Employment Standards.
  • HR Policy & Compliance: Drive continuous improvement across HR processes and support diversity initiatives.
  • HR Metrics & Reporting: Analyse HR metrics to inform decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR strategies.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organisational Psychology, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with 2+ years in a business partnering role.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Australian employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well-organised and able to juggle multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to manage change effectively.
  • Exposure to HRIS such as Workday is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Experience within energy, resources or heavy industry highly desirable.
