Job Description
We are looking for an Associate, Operations to support the Asset Manager (AM) and Operations & Maintenance Manager (OM) in managing our portfolio of renewable energy assets across Australia.
With five operational assets managed by one AM and one OM, this role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our sites. In addition, you will help the broader Operations team during the handover of new projects from construction to operations.
This is a vital support role that enables the AM and OM to focus on strategic priorities and drive performance, efficiency, and growth in our renewable energy portfolio.
This position is based at our Brisbane office.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management
- Support the daily management of renewable assets to ensure optimal performance and operational efficiency.
- Assist in overseeing O&M contractor, vendor, and service contracts ensuring all activities comply with terms and conditions.
- Ensure assets comply with environmental, regulatory, and permitting requirements.
- Prepare and maintain technical and financial due diligence documents, and support insurance risk surveys.
- Manage project documentation and registers, and coordinate site visits for stakeholders.
- Review O&M reports and maintenance records from contractors.
- Promote and support a strong Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) culture.
- Support site inspections and audits.
Operations & Maintenance (O&M)
- Monitor asset generation using digital platforms and analyze operational performance.
- Work with contractors to resolve operational issues impacting asset generation.
- Administer documentation from O&M contractors and other service providers.
- Manage asset fault logs, schedule outages, and assist in fault rectification planning.
- Coordinate OEM training for site personnel.
- Oversee corrective and scheduled maintenance activities with contractors/subcontractors.
- Assist with invoice approvals and support task close-outs.
- Support inventory and spare parts management.
Education
- Bachelor of Engineering or relevant technical Tertiary education.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in renewable energy operations or asset management, preferably in utility-scale projects.
- Strong technical experience in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) solar or power generation/substation environments will also be considered.
Skills
- Experience using SCADA systems and monitoring software to track and analyze plant performance.
- Strong analytical skills to identify underperformance or energy losses.
- Familiarity with solar, wind, hydro, or battery storage technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports for investors and executives.
- Proven stakeholder management and coordination skills across multiple assets and teams.
- Ability to manage tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under changing conditions and regulations.
- Maintain sharp situational awareness, safety focus, and a collaborative team mindset.
