Job Description

The Project Finance Team
The Project Finance team at OX2 is part of the Chief Investment Officer Organization and at the core of our journey to fund the construction of projects reaching a Final Investment Decision and become a hybrid independent power producer. The team has six members currently and reports to the Head of Project Finance.
Project Finance Manager
The Project Finance Manager will play a crucial role in managing project finance processes from origination to execution, which encompasses relationship management with lenders, transaction structuring, financial modelling supervision and negotiations. You will be located at OX2's Stockholm office at Lilla Nygatan 1. This role requires in-depth knowledge of available financing solutions, as well as a strong understanding of credit structuring, financial modeling and project evaluation, and process management, preferably within the renewable energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with commercial lenders, multilateral lenders and advisors.
- Manage the financing process leading to projects reaching a Final Investment Decision from initial outreach, process preparation, due diligence, to negotiations and internal approvals.
- Supervise financial analysis and modeling to evaluate the profitability and feasibility of potential projects.
- Participate in and contribute to negotiations with lenders.
- Collaborate effectively with the Investments, Offtake, Engineering, Procurement, Construction teams.
- Present transactions to internal clients such as OX2’s Leadership Team and Board of Directors as part of OX2’s internal approval process.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the renewable energy market, including advancements in technology, changes in policy, emerging trends.
- Assess the financing impact of regulatory changes and market trends on ongoing and future projects.
Skills and Qualifications
- Master's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate finance and project finance, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
- Proven experience in financial modeling, project evaluation, and financing.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and environmental standards related to the financing of renewable energy projects.
- Experience as a project finance borrower or lender, preferably within a bank, investment fund, or other Independent Power Producer (IPP).
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to open spreadsheets and go line by line for quality checks.
- Early exposure to structuring and negotiating transactions, with experience supporting senior colleagues.
- Process management skills, including market analysis, term sheet preparation, due diligence, and financial close.
- Ability to satisfy lenders' requirements and provide answers to their questions, involving the right people as needed.
- Early experience with agreements, negotiations, and achieving successful outcomes.
