Job Description

Peak Power is a North American cleantech company providing end-to-end battery energy storage solutions for large commercial, industrial, and manufacturing facilities. Powered by industry-leading peak forecasting and market intelligence, we help large energy users significantly reduce electricity costs, unlock new revenue streams, and achieve sustainability goals.

With innovative financing models that eliminate upfront costs and proprietary AI-enabled software achieving greater than 90% peak prediction accuracy, we’ve unlocked over $13.2 million from batteries under management, generating ~$160,000 in annual value per megawatt.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Energy Storage Sales Executive who thrives in the hunt — someone energized by identifying, pursuing, and closing new customer and partner opportunities.

The Energy Storage Sales Executive to lead and expand our Behind-the-Meter (BTM) energy storage business. This role will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing energy storage opportunities for commercial and industrial customers.

The ideal candidate brings deep market knowledge, strong client relationships, and a proven ability to sell technical solutions that generate value through demand charge management and participation in energy markets.

Our new Energy Storage Sales Executive will

Deliver

You proactively identify new leads through cold calling, door knocking, networking at events, and other creative methods. You don't wait for leads to come in — you go out and find them.

  • Identify and develop sales opportunities for BTM battery energy storage systems (BESS) across C&I sectors
  • Own the sales cycle from lead generation to contract execution Build compelling customer proposals with support from internal teams (engineering, legal, modeling, project finance)
  • Leverage knowledge of customer energy profiles, utility tariffs, and incentives to articulate project value (e.g. demand reduction, DR programs, ICI eligibility)
  • Engage in consultative selling to align battery use cases (e.g. peak shaving, revenue stacking) with customer needs

Report

Prepare concepts, proposals, plans, and quotes in response to customer contacts and maintain knowledge of market trends, customer requirements, competitor actions

  • Track and forecast sales pipeline activity using CRM tools
  • Ensure delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals and manage a weekly revenue forecast in Peak’s CRM tools.

Collaborate

You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective operations that require input, buy-in, and execution across internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support internal Peak finance, legal, technical, and project execution teams and Peak’s consultants to facilitate successful project financing and construction
  • Work with the development and engineering teams to implement improvements/changes to the product as requested or recommended by clients
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure smooth handoff to delivery teams' post-sale

Grow

You are a critical thinker who can seize opportunities to create value for Peak Power’s long-term vision for optimizing power utilization and energy storage. You will proactively identify opportunities to improve operational performance, efficiency, and scalability and contribute to Peak Power’s electric asset portfolio growth.

  • Stay informed on regulatory, policy, and incentive developments in key markets, such as IESO
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings

What you bring to Peak Power

The experience and education

  • 7+ years of commercial experience, preferably within energy storage.
  • Experience in renewable energy and distributed energy resources environment.
  • Experience with markets and demand usage rates, preferably IESO
  • Technology minded, with the ability to explain high-tech info to a variety of audiences.
  • Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in sales, and business strategy.
  • Exceptional track record of meeting KPIs
  • Expertise developing, building, maintaining key strategic industry partnerships. Technology minded, with the ability to explain high-tech info to a variety of audiences.
