Job Description
Skeleton's Finance team is looking for a Technical Grants Writer (m/f/x) who thrives at the intersection of advanced technology, public funding, and innovation strategy.
You’ll be part of our grants team, contributing to the development of fundraising strategies, supporting engagement with leading investors, and assisting in corporate finance initiatives that advance our mission.
Your tasks in the net-zero journey
- Draft and validate both technical and financial sections of grant applications for EU tech instruments (e.g., Innovation Fund, Horizon Europe, EIC Accelerator, and key national schemes), ensuring consistency with Skeleton’s business model and investment strategy.
- Prepare grant proposals by working closely with the Technical & Finance teams to ensure alignment between technical project plans and financial components, including budgeting, cost justification, revenue modelling, and funding gap analysis.
- Translate complex technical plans into coherent financial plans and work packages, working closely with R&D and finance teams.
- Monitor the implementation of awarded grants from both financial and technical reporting perspectives, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and traceability across deliverables.
- Lead the submission of financial reports and contribute to technical reporting, as required by funding bodies and auditors.
- Identify risks and structural funding challenges in innovation projects, and support mitigation planning in collaboration with both finance and technical leadership.
- Align public funding opportunities with Skeleton’s technology development plans and long-term financial strategy.
Requirements
We don’t expect to master it all. At Skeleton, you’ll have the support of the team, and we work together to achieve our goals. However, there are requirements you should be able to fulfill to succeed in this role:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Management, Economics, Engineering, Public Policy, or related disciplines).
- Solid background in financial analysis, budgeting, or corporate finance—ideally within a high-growth, innovation environment.
- Proven experience in preparing public grant applications (e.g., Innovation Fund, Horizon Europe, EIC, or national innovation programs), including ownership of financial sections and budgeting.
- Ability to translate complex financial and technical information into accessible, strategic content for diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with grant project accounting, including reporting, cost eligibility, and audit preparation.
- German language as a native speaker.
Benefits
- A flat hierarchy culture - fostering our great working atmosphere.
- Use the training budget to expand your knowledge and competencies.
- Helpfulness among colleagues is not just an empty phrase but a practice every day.
- A motivating opportunity for continuous growth at Skeleton.
- An additional day off every year for your birthday.
We're not just about energy storage. We're about redefining energy for a net-zero future, and we'd love for you to be a part of our journey.
