Job Description
Skeleton`s SuperBattery Site in Varkaus, Finland is now looking for a driven and experienced SuperBattery Site Director to join our growing team!
As the SuperBattery Site Director of the Varkaus production site, you will hold full operational and strategic responsibility for the site’s performance, development, and alignment with company-wide goals. You are not only the key contact for internal-and external stakeholders, but also the leader and visionary who drives excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement across all site operations.
Your key responsibilities shall include but are not limited to:
Strategic Leadership & Team Development
- Lead the Varkaus team with a strategic vision, emphasizing accountability and collaboration.
- Promote core values: get shit done, use good judgement, and push boundaries.
- Align company objectives with actionable site-level goals.
- Implement performance metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement.
- Create an empowering work environment for individual growth and team cohesion.
- Demonstrate hands-on leadership on-site to build trust and engagement.
Operational Oversight & Resource Management
- Ensure the site is equipped with necessary tools and safety equipment.
- Act as a liaison between Varkaus and other Skeleton teams for seamless communication.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement workflow optimizations.
Financial Ownership & Budget Management
- Manage the budgeting process, including planning and reporting.
- Maintain financial transparency through invoice verification and cost control.
- Collaborate with the function manager on budget approvals while overseeing financial operations.
External Relations & Compliance
- Build relationships with external partners and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and promote safety best practices.
- Oversee facility maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
Production Strategy, Campaign Execution & Supply Chain Leadership
- Lead production planning and execution aligned with strategic goals.
- Define production targets, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Manage material planning, procurement, inventory, and outbound logistics.
Requirements
- Experience in industrial or process environments, particularly in piece production.
- Ideally, experience in battery-related settings.
- A minimum of 5 years in comparable positions.
- Proven expertise in managing teams, operations, and site management.
- Proficient in both Finnish and English.
- Educational background in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- Willingness to be present on-site in Varkaus five days a week.
