Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.

General Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on market trends, competitors, and industry dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Financial Analysis: Support financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting efforts to assess the viability of new projects and initiatives.
  • Project Support: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of strategic projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret data to provide actionable insights that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Business Strategy Development: Collaborate with team members to develop, refine, and implement business strategies that align with the company’s goals.
  • Presentation Development: Prepare reports, presentations, and other materials to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work with various internal teams, such as finance, operations, and marketing, to gather input and ensure alignment on key projects.
  • Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current processes and suggest improvements to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
  • Customer Insights: Conduct research to gather insights on customer needs and preferences, aiding in product development and marketing strategies.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with different departments to ensure seamless execution of strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Reporting: Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and next steps.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Current student enrolled and pursuing an MBA with a Bachelor’s or Master’s undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or similar background.
  • Strong application of business acumen and technical skills, demonstrated through extracurricular projects, research, internships, or work experience.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on using data to drive decisions.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) or programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
  • Eagerness to learn about the clean energy industry and to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies.
  • Experience with financial modeling and forecasting techniques is highly desirable.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and adapt quickly while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to build trust and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in market or customer requirements research, with the ability to communicate findings and their impact on business strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to work with highly collaborative team
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to proactively collect, manage and transfer knowledge
  • Ability to seek different and novel ways to create efficiencies when working on problems, challenges and issues

The hourly range for this position is $45-50 employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters or $40-45 for remote employees working in California. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California.
