Job Description

SSEN Distribution are recruiting Project Managers to play a pivotal role in the planning and delivery of our Transformation project, Project Bridge.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a complex, high-profile programme that is redefining how we serve our customers, embedding agility into our operations, and building the digital capability needed for the future of SSE. You’ll work with experienced delivery teams and senior stakeholders across our business and supply chain, managing the full lifecycle of a key delivery pillar from planning to execution.

You will

  • Lead the planning and management of a designated delivery pillar, ensuring a high-confidence (P80) baseline plan is developed, maintained, and aligned with the overarching integrated programme schedule.
  • Administer and control contracts (primarily under NEC3 frameworks) in partnership with supply chain providers, including processing change requests, impact assessments, and compensation events.
  • Manage project reporting and governance, producing KPIs and progress updates to support Programme Board reporting and ensure transparency across delivery milestones, risks, and resourcing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with delivery leads, the Portfolio Management Office (PMO), and senior stakeholders to maintain alignment, mitigate risks, and drive efficiency across delivery teams.
  • Ensure financial and resource accuracy through a fully costed and resource-loaded project plan, providing clear visibility of commercial impacts, dependencies, and critical paths.

You have

  • Project delivery expertise within large-scale, complex programmes – ideally in utilities, energy, or related infrastructure sectors – with a strong understanding of transformational or operational change.
  • Extensive experience in contract and schedule management, including administration of NEC3 contracts and use of project tools such as Microsoft Project, P6, and Excel.
  • Formal project management qualifications (e.g. APM, MSP) and a strong track record of applying them in practice across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present clear recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Commercial acumen and resource planning ability, with experience managing sub-contractors, understanding commercial risk, and driving value through supplier performance.
