Renewable energy jobs at RWE

RWE delivers numerous large-scale renewable energy projects, including the 1,400 MW Sofia offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom, the 1,080 MW Thor project in Denmark, and the North Sea clusters A and B in Germany with capacities of 660 MW and 900 MW respectively (source: rwe.com). In 2025, RWE commissioned 2.8 GW of new power plant capacity, investing approximately €10.8 billion gross, bringing the installed capacity to 46.8 GW (source: rwe.com). For the period 2026 to 2031, the company plans net investments of €35 billion to expand renewable energy, battery storage, and flexible power plant capacity by 25 GW to around 65 GW (source: rwe.com). This includes €9 billion for flexible backup and large battery projects, as well as up to 3 GW of hydrogen-capable gas power plants in Germany, plus €7 billion for onshore wind and solar in Europe and Australia (source: rwe.com). Offshore wind capacity reached 3.3 GW pro rata at the end of 2025, and five UK projects secured government contracts with expected capacity up to 6.9 GW, of which RWE holds 3.5 GW (source: rwe.com).
