Boralex has been providing renewable and affordable energy for over 30 years. The Group, composed of more than 800 employees, operates renewable assets with an installed capacity of over 3 GW and is developing a project portfolio of 6.8 GW in wind, solar, and energy storage.
YOUR PROFILE
You are a seasoned procurement professional with expertise in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain management, contract management, or related fields. You are a mature professional with experience executing large-scale, complex contracts within a major industrial organization. You demonstrate strong project management skills and a proven ability to build relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. You have experience in the energy sector and are familiar with trends in the wind, solar, and energy storage industries. You enjoy working on multiple projects simultaneously and would like to join a pioneering Canadian company with strong human values in the renewable energy sector.
YOUR CHALLENGE
Reporting to the Manager, Procurement (Wind), you will organize and lead Boralex's procurement efforts for key equipment and services supporting Boralex's wind projects.
Working closely with various groups across Boralex, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing a strong understanding of the market for major equipment and services, including supplier capabilities, market positioning, and business strategies.
- Collaborating with the Development and Project Management teams to prepare and optimize project schedules and budgets.
- Leading the preparation of RFIs and RFPs in accordance with Boralex standards, as well as organizing and managing the commercial evaluation of supplier proposals with a multidisciplinary team composed of engineering, development, project management, finance, and other specialists.
- Negotiating the commercial terms of major equipment and service supply agreements for the execution of wind projects.
- Organizing multidisciplinary teams for contract negotiations with suppliers and securing approval from the appropriate governance bodies for contract execution.
- Working in a multi-project environment.
- Assisting in the contract execution oversight, equipment and service procurement activities, and supporting suppliers in logistics and storage planning.
- Leading the resolution of issues and potential disputes with suppliers during project execution.
- Leading supplier engagement initiatives in support of Boralex's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy.
- Supporting the Category Manager, Procurement (Wind), in market analysis and in identifying potential opportunities and competitive advantages for Boralex.
- Ensuring supplier prequalification and technical and commercial evaluations.
- Performing other duties related to the responsibilities of the Procurement team.
Note: This position requires occasional travel within North America and internationally.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in an industrial environment, preferably in the energy sector, including at least 8 years in procurement management and project management.
- Experience leading contract negotiations and managing contracts valued at more than $100 million within the renewable energy industry.
- Experience in the execution of major capital projects.
- Demonstrated leadership in the implementation of cross-functional projects.
- Experience working in or with international organizations.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle, including Development, EPC/BOP, commissioning, operations, and maintenance.
- Strong project management skills and demonstrated experience in the field.
- Advanced negotiation skills.
- Experience in risk management and mitigation planning.
- Experience in the wind energy industry.
- Excellent bilingual communication skills. French is the working language in Qu??bec; English is required only to meet the specific requirements of the position.
- An established professional network within the renewable energy industry is considered an asset.
